"The mayor's job pays $20 a meeting plus a one-time $2,000 fee, so I basically make $4,000 a year," Castro told San Antonio television station KENS last year.

San Antonio City Manager Sheryl Sculley makes $355,000 a year, one of the highest salaries for a local office in Texas.

“Mexican-American”

Whats American about him?

He and his family have made a career out of absolute hatred and teeth clenched opposition to America, including violence

And he’s going to be in charge of the biggest budget in the land?

The last great latino from San Antonio that was director of HUD was Henry Cisneros. This is when they forced banks to make home loans to people (mostly minorities) that couldn’t afford the homes. As we all learned later, this didn’t work out so well.

Henry was banished from Washington because he was involved in a sex scandal but the real train wreck was what he and Billy Bob Clinton wanted to force banks to make bad loans. Unfortunately, the bill was passed on to the taxpayers.

But...some good did come out of the hilarious flameout of Henry Cisneros. He had to exit public life, leaving behind his taxpayer-funded paychecks, and actually go to work in the private sector doing something constructive that contributes to the tax base. Which, it should be noted, is something neither of the Brothers Castro has ever accomplished.

Wasn't there another SA Mayor that held the HUD job, and didn't he have to quit because of scandal?l

If Hillary’s primary qualification is having a vagina, seems like being a mayor is plenty good enough.

The guy could be a moronic pedophile and it would not matter. Ethnicity and looks are the real qualifications for the identity politics of the Socialist Democrats.

The Community Reinvestment Act, as it was called, cost America billions of dollars and didn’t help the families it was supposed to benefit.

I understand we’re going to try it again soon...

Ole Henry Cisneros was the demos latino superstar for a while there. They acted like he might be a future president.

Well, at least Henry is contributing to the tax base now .... unlike the Castros.

What’s American about him? The pronunciation of his first name as Joo-lee-en rather than Hoo-lee-en.

” ... and didn’t help the families it was supposed to benefit.”

I believe it did benefit some of them. They got into houses they couldn’t afford and then the PRINCIPALS ON THEIR LOANS WERE REDUCED. The payments were reduced.

They got to keep a house they couldn’t afford. We subsidized the portion they couldn’t afford. Many of them gained wealth because they couldn’t pay. It’s nothing more than REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH.

“Mexican-American Castro could earn the vice-presidential spot ... “

Is Castro a dual-citizen? Can a dual-citizen be vice president?

Yeah...ol' Henry may be a scumbag, but at least he's a private sector scumbag.

Actually, I don't have anything against Cisneros. If he ever harbored any anti-American sentiment, I haven't heard about it. The Castro boys, on the other hand, are little more than La Raza operatives who make their living ripping off the taxpayers.
