EU elections 2014: Does Germany rule your world?

Germans should be the happiest people in Europe.

Their nation is one of the very few European countries to have survived the global recession and the eurozone crisis almost unscathed. Their economy is booming; their products are in demand; and, as a result, some argue they can call the shots throughout the region.

But over the past few years, it is this very resilience and economic success which has caused it to be cast as villain.

Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, has been portrayed as Hitler’s daughter. And her country has been painted as “an imperial power that will not be loved or admired by the rest, but hated and resisted”, in a warning by George Soros, the financier, “because it will be perceived as an oppressive power”.

Economic success means you had to keep pricing down, stay competitive, rob neighboring countries in economic woes of their engineers and technicians, and keep stagnant salary structures in place (not just three or four years, but for an entire decade). Employment only stays low...because you use mini-jobs and creative games on the unemployed crowd.

Germany tells Cameron he WON'T be able to renegotiate Britain's EU relationship
A LEADING German politician has warned David Cameron he will be unable to renegotiate Britain's relationship with the European Union and accused the Prime Minister of a "desperate attempt to appease Ukip" in pledging to do so.

UKIP is pro-trade and pro free-market. Why shouldn’t UKIP get leaflets printed in Germany?

Germany has been the greatest victim of the EU. Their people have been enslaved to pay for Greek pensions and the debts of the Southern members. They need to throw off the EU yoke.

As stated, UKIP got busted propping up the European single market when it suited them (as well as other glaring hypocrisies), but insist it was a “mistake”.

The EU financial rescues are loans, which is why some Greeks and others are angry. If Germany really were “the greatest victim of the EU” - you would see the EU collapse very rapidly, which has not been the case.
