Like the Bishop in a chess game, the Pope is moving diagonally and when the way is clear, is able to move all the way to the other side of the board. Even though the Current Occupant is playing checkers, or maybe Tiddly-Winks, the rest of the world is playing chess, some of it in three dimensions.

The Pope does not work for Obama, but occasionally their actions align. This is of no permanent advantage for the Current Occupant.

It’s my HOPE that a lot of this is just spin, put out
by the PA to try and gain as much as they can from the visit;
and that the Vatican doesn’t counter it, because, among other things, those (false?) expectations will make it “safer” for the Pope to travel through PA territory.

But that, in fact, none of the expected declarations will happen.

But, that remains to be seen...

I hope this is yet another example of the Left putting words in the Pontiff’s mouth. Hope so, anyway. IMO, Pope Francis is not the revolutionary he is made out to be.

That said, previous Popes have tread carefully around Islam, ostensibly to protect Christian minorities in Muslim-dominated states.

I agree with whoever said that the Pope should also call upon the Palis to recognize Israel. Sauce for the gander.
