Open carry is much more comfortable for those of us that are small framed.

You are correct that Chipotle won't see any more of my money. I don't go where I can't carry.

Not so long ago at all Chipotle was busted for having almost 100% illegal alien workers.

Great, a giant incubator for TB. Have to be stupid to eat there.

Chipotle has the right to decide what firearms customers may bring on to its property. The People have the right to decide whether to give money to Chipotle. Chipotle’s decision should make the People’s decision easy.

I am not a gun-owner, nor am I a Chipotle customer. I do, however, support our basic Freedoms, such as our Right to Bear Arms.

In the unlikely event that I ever step foot in a Chipotle, I will be bearing my Gurkha Kuchuri and my K-Bar.

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

So people walked into a Chipotle carrying AR-15 variants????

ROTFLMAO. If that had been my local Chipotle, the hipsters behind the counter would have freaked out to the point where a thorough washdown would have been necessary to pass a health inspection.

"asking customers not to bring firearms into its stores...."

"Asking" is the operative word here. They ask, I ignore. However, I don't think it wise for a law abiding citizen to brandish (display) a modern sporting rifle in a restaurant either. A low profile is always the smart way to go.

By showing off his rod, you mean open carry?

Seems he means (per the story) the guy's "assault weapon". Open carry, a la a politely holstered handgun, in a restaurant is one thing; hauling a good-sized rifle therein is something else. The guy is obviously there to cause trouble, be it agitating for sociopolitical recognition.

Face it: save for very rare scenarios, walking into a restaurant chain carrying a rifle indicates one is trying to cause trouble.

And we are all sure that it was gun rights activists who did the carrying?

You know, if I were wanting to create ill will regarding the second amendment, I can’t think of a better way than to get a bunch of yahoos showing poor gun etiquette in public places.

"A low profile is always the smart way to go. "

Apparently that's why Winchester used to make "takedown" 1894's.

I would never carry my AR into a public place. Just too in your face for me. Illinois is new to concealed carry and some of us are trying very hard to establish a good reputation. Last weak I was visiting my folks at their assisted living and another couple joined us for lunch. The TV was on and there was something on about crime. The lady commented that she had heard that it was legal to carry a gun now and that scared her. I politely told her about the restrictions and such and that I was licensed to carry and sometimes did, altho I was not just then. I ended up with two converts. I would like to think that if someone brings the subject up with them that they will tell them that that polite young man who comes to see his parents all the time carries, so it must be OK. That is how I think it should be done.

Maybe Chipotle's competitors will update their signage:

We should all send the head office a copy of this to post at their stores:

I have many times. They’re good for what they are.

But, if this keeps going, I’m gonna have to start carrying a sack lunch inside an igloo when I leave the house.

Boycotting truly is about the only tool in the box against this “executive action” as was proved by the Louisiana Duck Caller guys.
