A pending proposal from President Obama to create a vast new wilderness area on the U.S.-Mexico border is drawing criticism from Republican lawmakers and local law enforcement officials who say it would significantly impede border security.
The Obama administration is set to designate a 600,000 acre national monument in south-central New Mexico to be managed and controlled by the Bureau of Land Management, a federal agency. The designated land will be called the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument, and environmentalists have long-sought the designation.
Utah Republican Rep. Rob Bishop, the chairman of a key subcommittee, blasted the plan in a letter Monday, saying it would allow the region to become an unfettered drug corridoor.
"National Parks, monuments, and wilderness areas along our southern border have become prime drug-trafficking corridors for violent criminals and drug cartels. Restrictive environmental laws within these federal corridors limit Border Patrol access and, as a result, make it easier for drug smugglers and human traffickers to move their drugs and people in and out of the United States unnoticed," Bishop, who is chairman of the Public Lands and Environmental Regulation subcommittee on the House Natural Resources committee, wrote.
Melissa Subbotin, the Communications Director for Rep. Bishop, told Breitbart News that Obama appears likely to bypass the Senate and Congress by creating the monument under the Antiquities Act.

That is probably intentional.
This strikes me as the drug cartels getting what they paid for.
It also makes a perfect place for that favorite money-maker of traffickers of all kinds-plenty of ready victims-wilderness hikers-to abduct and hold for ransom...
Of course it’s intentional the Democrat party actually despises what you & I love about the country and if they had their way you & I would be in an American version of the Bergan Belsen concentration camp.

The Mount Baker National Park is the drug mule entry zone of this area of the world. It's a 1.5 mile walk from the Canadian border into the park. Drug mules come down that hill so regularly you can set your watch by them.
Nothing is done. Whatcom County Sheriffs are overmatched and underfunded. Our council just closed a scout camp right there on the Canadian border up there.
Surely Obama will not try to get this new, Federally protected, wetback and drug corridor approved in a fast and furious manner?
I wondered when I first read about this yesterday if this was going to be a drug freeway.
So the enemy is at an unguarded gate, where the guards have been withdrawn by Executive Order ,
just like in Benghazi (!)
and we wonder who the enemy is ??
And yet we are supposed to get upset by Ukraine soverignty invasion by Ruskies ?
When our own FEDGovt. doesn't defend our own borders ?
Then the decision maker to unguard the gate is as much an enemy as the invading hoarde !
I suppose the one nice thing you can say about the Obama Regime is that they stay bought.
