How Obama Became the Superhero of Excuses (Ron Fournier spanks Ezra Klein)
The National Journal ^ | Wednesday, May 21, 2014 | Ron Fournier

Posted on 05/21/2014 11:13:06 AM PDT by kristinn

You helped elect an untested presidential candidate, a man almost as liberal as you. He promised to heal the oceans, make health care an unalienable right and transform Washington's toxic culture. You mocked Republicans, independents and squishy Democrats who had the audacity to criticize your guy, much less doubt the inevitability of his victory. President Obama won, twice, and then didn't live up to anybody's expectations, including his own.

What do you do? Well, if you're Ezra Klein and a coterie of inflexibly progressive pundits, you re-purpose an attack used against President George W. Bush's bombastic approach to geopolitics. You call anybody who questions Obama's leadership style a Green Lanternist. In a post for Vox stretching beyond 2,500-words, Klein makes his case against Obama critics.

"Presidents consistently overpromise and underdeliver," he begins, a fair start. Surely, the editor-in-chief of Vox is going to make the obvious point that presidents and presidential candidates should know enough about the political process (including the limits on the executive branch) to avoid such a breach of trust.

.....In Washington, we call it pandering. In the rest of the country, it's called a lie. Klein yawns.

SNIP

The launch of the Affordable Care Act and the worsening of conditions at the Department of Veterans Affairs are emblematic of Obama's inattention to the hard work of governing. He is slow to fire poor-serving Cabinet members and quick to dismiss controversies as "phony scandals." To the Obama administration, transparency is a mere talking point. The great irony of his progressive presidency: Democrats privately admit that Obama has done as much to undermine the public's faith in government as his GOP predecessor. The Green Lantern Theory is an excuse for failure.

[Linked article] Notice that the broken promises are pawned off to nonhuman forms ("his 2008 campaign" pledged ... "It also promised ... ") rather than Obama himself. The verbal gymnastics are an early hint that the main purpose of the essay is to shelter Obama from blame. There's so much more.

Good catch -- author catches a lie-beral JournoListing weasel, Klein, lying like a rug.

Keeping in mind that Klein was the architect of the JournoList and proximately responsible for all its lies and conspiracies great and small.

There was a cartoon circulating a few years ago about “Action Item Man”, where everything becomes an Action Item, but he never really does anything.

I'm pretty sure that Ezra would like that.

Ever catch Klein on TV? Charlie Rose flattered him with a Charlie Rose Power Junkie of the Week (TM) interview recently. Klein's egotism and moral skank just ooze from him. Even his face outs him as one of those eyes-glow-in-the-dark power-mad Bram Stoker characters.

If I ever had the misfortune to glimpse that smirking, self-infatuated little krap weasel on the telly I wouldn't be able to turn the channel fast enough. My stomach isn't as strong as yours.

Don’t spank Ezra Klein too hard. He reportedly enjoys that kind of stuff, you know. Besides, if you took him to the woodshed for a spanking, the rats would leave ASAP.

Around DC he is known as “Little Shit”, which applies to his personality and his writings.

Mr. KAPO, once the pride of the Wash. Post. Now on his own and just as Leftist as before.

I’m pretty sure Fournier never wrote about his misgivings electing Obama until lately when everything is turning to sh!t. I don’t recall him standing up for the GOP or conservatives when they voiced their fears about electing an untested unknown to the highest office in the land. In fact, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and deduce that Ron voted for The One in 2008 and possibly in 2012. I guess he thinks that jumping from the sinking ship now absolves him from his share of the blame. Think again, Ron.

Did you catch obama when he said “We all” need to do something. It’s always someone else’s fault. Sometimes it’s even the American citizens’ fault.

Ezra Klein is deliberately responsible for the leakage of numerous intelligence documents through his precious Journolist. It says a lot about the Hussein administration's incompetence and agenda that he isn't sharing a cell with Bradley Manning right now.

I would argue that neither party functions as a political party today...they both serve as a funnel for special interest groups (from oil and banking, to environmental foundations and gay marriage). You show up...show some money...get a Senator tied into your cause, then build onto it.
