You’re cynicism is painful to read. You think that everything passes into memory - so very different than the average freeper who tends to remember every evil inflicted on America.
By the way, “thank you” parties can take place anywhere and everywhere. Have you ever given a thank you party at a friend’s house because your own house could not accommodate the crowds? Probably not, but I have.
In the end, it will be Free Republic and its friends who will keep the memory of America alive. Not the cynical people who shrug and say “what difference does it make?”
Goodnight, Arizona.
I hear you! Half my of family members are life long students. The crap they say and talk about is truly unbelievable. You would think they would grow up eventually. Sadly no.
A few months ago I did a 4D jigsaw puzzle of New York. On the timeline you were supposed to remove the Twin Towers in 2001.
When I finished the puzzle I threw it away (it is a once only thing) but kept the Towers; the new Freedom tower and the Statue of Liberty.
Someone had given my a statue of an angel holding a lamb. I arranged the pieces in a semi-circle with the angel behind them. Every time I pass them I say the prayer I learned at Catholic school.....
Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord;
And let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
Amen.
In between posts from you I went and checked my home e-mail and found that I had a spam/ circular from one of America’s leading department stores informing me that their Memorial Day Sale has already started. And yet here you are insisting America is not a crass nation and things don’t pass into memory. I remember evils inflicted upon America, most people do, but those evils don’t change the reality we live in, which generally involves things like going to work and paying bills.
Different kind of thank you party. This is a party thanking people for the money needed to build this building, for that people expect to be in the building they built.
Lots of things will keep the memory of America alive, but only when folks have a few moments between work and chores.
I’m not cynical, I’m simply willing to admit how reality actually works. Sadly reality doesn’t generally work the nice way. Maybe you should put less effort into labeling people and more effort into understanding the world you live in, so far all of the boxes you try to throw me in show you to simply not understand basic things that surround you. Too busy trying to make yourself FEEL superior, not enough effort BEING superior.
umm, illogic noted
the WTC terrorist attack site was pretty small and defined by a few city blocks. No objections to cocktails on the Arizona? How about on Omaha Beach?
Drink!

If it made them money fundraising, leftards would throw a big top circus at Arlington.
Bless you, sir or madam! Bless you!
The town in NJ where I live lost over 700 people. The evening of 9/11, I helped a teacher friend turn the American flag into the distress signal. Many of the parents of her kiddies were not coming home that night. We watched the sky above turn black and had to close the windows against the smell of burning flesh and chemicals.
You Texicans know how to do it properly. Bless you!
“You Texicans know how to do it properly. Bless you!”

I’ve been a MA resident my entire long life. :-)
I visited The Alamo and they were very strict about enforcing the rules.

FRegards.
Speak for yourself.
The families want the remains to be placed in a separate building on the campus, a little enclosure with an eternal flame. With all the billions and years spent, it does not seem too great a request.
Well, you think like a Texan, lol!
Holding a cocktail party at the September 11th Museum Memorial is just repulsive. I don’t care how many years have gone by; it is the responsibility of those of us who were alive on that day to hand down to the future generations proper historical reverence concerning the horrors of that day to those who weren’t born. “Time has passed” is not a pass to allow any frivolty at this solemn memorial.
This was debunked on Levins show last night by a friend of his who was there
And no peeing.
