Just one day after two officers in Salinas, California, fatally shot a suspected robber, another man was shot and killed Wednesday night as protests against the quick trigger fingers of local police took place nearby.
According to CBS San Francisco, between 300 and 500 protesters gathered near Del Monte Avenue in Salinas to voice their opposition to what they see as excessive force by police. Currently, its unclear what circumstances led up to the deadly confrontation, but an already emotional protest turned violent afterwards, and police with riot gear were called in to respond at the scene.
In the midst of the violence, a police officer was also hospitalized after being hit in the head with a heavy object either a brick or a bottle as he was performing CPR on the shooting victim.
One man was also arrested, local KION News reported. Accused of harassing a K-9 and rounding up others to taunt police, 26-year-old Diego Garcia was charged with inciting a riot and resisting arrest.

Picture of what started the protest in the first place.
Bad marksmanship? Paging al not so sharp-ton or jessah jackson.
This is a step up or two from the usual protest of this kind. People are getting restive. I expect more and of greater intensity events like this in the future.
Rockets, moon shots
Spend it on the have nots
Money, we make it
Fore we see it you take it
Inflation no chance
To increase finance
Bills pile up sky high
Send that boy off to die
Hang ups, let downs
Bad breaks, set backs
Natural fact is
I can’t pay my taxes
Crime is increasing
Trigger happy policing
Panic is spreading
God know where we’re heading
I lived in Salinas back in the early-mid 60’s. Used to be a nice town.
Since Salinas is ground-zero of the central valley illegal alien population, I will hazard to speculate that this riot was orchestrated largely if not exclusively by “immigration activist” groups.

Don’t bring gardening shears to a gun fight.
Well goody we get the RT take on what no doubt was really nasty violence in Salinas. They is a large ILLEGAL community there and a gang infestation that is astonishing. Until we know more, because of where ir occurred, I will not jump to conclusions.
This is an area with more gang activity than Oakland or Richmond
It’s 50% illegals now, at least.
Dang! I don’t know. The original video looked like the Police showed some restraint with the guy. Were they supposed to just let him go? I can’t make up my mind on this one.
This clearly shows the difference between California and Arizona.
In AZ, if someone says the police shot an armed robber, the appropriate response is, “Did anyone get hurt?” The robber doesn’t count. If he was such a damned fool as to commit an armed robbery in Arizona, of all places, he was either a transient, not from there, or he was so nuts that he didn’t care that people were shooting at him.
It really doesn’t matter if a civilian or a cop shot him, because he was an armed robber. Nobody gives two hoots if “his momma loved him”, “he was a good boy”, or “he was getting his life together”, for the simple reason that no he wasn’t, because he was an armed robber.
And now he is a shot armed robber. If he doesn’t die, it’s only because who ever shot him didn’t do it right, or enough.
So basically if youre drunk here in Salinas you run the risk of getting shot by police and it just shows the lack of training ... that they have to resort to lethal force all the time and kill civilians, protester Ralph Garcia said. Thats not right, were not going to allow this.
Sez a spokesperson for a crowd that hit a cop in the head with a brick while said cop was doing CPR on one of “their kind”.
ell, I guess they were on to something
Did either of these cops attempt to use a taser? I don’t see any evidence of that, but I’ll wait for further analysis.
I don’t click on you tube links....and it would not change my starting point....Salinas is a pit. If you don’t live there or work there you have NO clue.
It’s reported they did.
