The TSA has issued a solicitation requesting 24 million rounds of .357 SIG “duty ammunition” over a five year period, prompting fresh questions as to whether the federal agency is planning to arm its workers.

“Estimated quantity is approximately 4,800,000 rounds of .357 Sig duty ammunition per year, totaling 24,000,000 over the life of the contract,” states the solicitation, posted on FedBizOpps, which adds that the ammo is for use at “DHS component locations nationwide.”

I hope if Cruz is elected President he will order all this federale ammo to be sold on the open market to citizens and encourage every citizen to be armed and well provisioned with ammo.

The end is coming from the United States, and this administration is stepping up the pace. Obviously something is going to happen that will require all law enforcement officers to begin murdering US citizens at will.

I’d wager 80% of TSA “agents” don’t know which end of the gun a bullet comes out.

I bet 80% of them would hold the gun sideways

Well they can try. I’d wager they’ll run when we start shooting back.

You’re probably safe if they’re shooting at you.

It’s that 3 year old at the other end of the concourse that will end up shot.

Is there a listing anywhere of all the government ammo purchases in the past oh say 6 years?

I wonder if these solicitations are truly for the agency stated. They are supposed to be but I wonder.

Why does the Post office need ammo? Or the TSA.DHS, however, IS arming themselves.

Seems like kind of an exotic round for this kind of thing.

The government does not buy this amount of rounds unless they know
something they think we don’t know. I think we all know what is coming.

.357Sig isn’t the least bit rare. Many Fed agencies and municipal PDs use it. Think .40 S&W with rebated rim and .357 business end.

Obviously something is going to happen that will require all law enforcement officers to begin murdering US citizens at will.

No need to go farther than the fall of the US Dollar. Currently the USD is backed only by the fact that a lot of those dollars are in circulation, and by the backroom deal that oil on this planet can be sold only for USD. This resulted in a situation where the USA only needs to print money to remain rich. This also means that the USA charges the world a tax for using the USD, and lives off of this tax. So far this works - in part because it takes only a small amount of money to "personally convince" the decision makers that the USD is the best currency in the world. However this does not make the USD any more attractive technically. There are also countries with enough weight to displace the USD - and they will do so without any hesitation if it benefits them.

If we imagine that the USD is not going anywhere, the current model of the US society, extrapolated onto a few decades in the future, is quite simple and stable. One President after another are building a cradle-to-grave dependency society, where citizens don't have to work in order to live. In reality most don't even have an option of working because they have neither a place to work at, nor skills to do the work, nor buyers of their product. In a long view a US citizen is born and immediately placed on entitlements until his natural (or not so natural) death. The entitlements would be financed by the rest of the planet. This scheme is already in place.

In either scenario the citizen ceases to be a valuable producer of goods. He instead becomes a useless eater. If the USD crashes, most of the population will not be able to survive. If the USD does not crash, the cattle needs to be managed and culled as needed to maintain a reasonable herd structure. (It's not very likely that 300 million people with too much free time on their hands will be only singing and painting.) That's where the ammo is needed.

Actually it is a .40 S&W necked to .355 (9mm) the name came from the goal to have .357 performance from an auto. Kind of confusing.
