UKIP has gained council seats from all the main parties, the latest local election results show.
UKIP's performance held Labour back from making the gains many expected, and weakened the party's grip on its traditional northern heartlands.
The Conservatives have also lost seats to the anti-EU party and the Liberal Democrats continue to be punished by voters.
According to the latest Sky News projection, the results so far would give a hung parliament at the 2015 General Election.

This sounds like what America needs.
UKIP huh?
Bring them to America.
I wasn’t speaking of our mainstream media.
Red China’s labeling Modi “India’s Nixon”, which isn’t a positive either.
Sometimes I wish we had a proportional parliamentary party system so we could have a US party like UKIP or a real Tea Party party. I’d even be happy with a run off top two style national election system. We could get rid of this two party lock that the political class has on the Presidency once and for all.
Unlike US libertarians, they believe in national borders and oppose the free flow of labor.
LOL. The Establishment is desperate. They always demonize their opponents as Nazis.
No, you don’t want that. The Dems are trying to push us into proportional representation so that the liberal cities can lord it over the conservatives.
For the UK, that is pretty conservative.
One step at a time works too.
I meant that we need our own party
The icing on the cake is coming in the next six hours or so as the EU Parliament results will be announced.
UKIP will be up against all the other parties and is likely to finish first in seats and popular vote.
The Conservatives, like Republicans here do with us, spread fear that voting for UKIP (Third Party) would cause the Labour Party (Democrats) to win.
I MUST CORRECT MY PREVIOUS POST.
The icing on the cake comes when the EU Parliamentary election results come out on Sunday.
Be here Sunday afternoon for the results.

I can’t disagree with anything on that list, can you?
green: English councils 0 +/- 0 Seats 4 Seats +/- +1
That must hurt.
That ‘libertarianism’ is essentially classical liberalism. Very much along the small-government, freedom-oriented activists here.
UKIP has been for increasing the UK’s defense budget, but not in favor of, for example, involvement in Syria.
“that must hurt”
Butt Hurt all round.
Now we wait for the EU election results; is Germany involved with this little revolution?
Is there a ground swell or is everything still ‘under contol’?
I expect they’ll continue to grow from here. I also expect there are a few British politicos looking into how Perot was convinced not to run.
Yeah buddy!
