Dinesh D'Souza the conservative scholar and documentary filmmaker who pleaded guilty to election fraud charges on the eve of his trial insists he did not deceive diehard supporters who insisted on his innocence.
"From the beginning of this case when the prosecution and I appeared in court, I said that I did exceed the limits of the campaign finance laws,'' D'Souza told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"The case revolved really on
the issue of selective prosecution
Was [I] being selectively or excessively prosecuted for something that normally doesn't get this kind of treatment?

Isn't that in effect, limiting a person's right to free speech?
And oh, Iwhy is D'Souza in danger of going to jail for a mere $20,000 when Jon Corzine, who lost BILLIONS of money using customers and clients money on a financial bet stil FREE years after the fact?
NOTE: His crime was reimbursing two associates $10,000 each for money they gave to the campaign of New York U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long, a Republican running for the seat once held by Hillary Clinton.
THAT is illegal.
The question is why should it be illegal?
Answer: Because selective prosecution is a tool of tyranny. Many gun control laws were enacted at a time when they would only be enforced against blacks, even though “the Law, in all its majestic equality, prohibits both kings and paupers alike from sleeping under bridges.”
You must remember Dinesh , you are being watched 24/7
Meanwhile, Bloomberg The Once And Future King spends many millions of dollars on his own campaign efforts and is never charged.
D’Souza isnt Italian
Selective prosecution, as he says, but he was a fool to do what he did. He has now discredited himself, his movie, and conservatives who supported him. He will now probably get a harsher sentence because he has spoken out. He supplied ammunition to the enemy who used it to shoot him. One more victory for the Leftists destroying the USA.
He could have just “hired” them for some do- nothing job.
Would have to pay tax, but legal.
He did it the dumBO way, there should be a pardon on the way.
The latest Supreme Court case rolling back campaign finance restrictions said corporations could give unlimited amounts on free speech grounds, but didn’t address the limits for individuals. So now corporations have more freedom than the individuals who create them. Someone needs to take the individual restrictions up through the courts on that basis. Political spending is free speech and should not be limited.
No, he has not discredited himself. He still has all the constitutional guarantees provided to any american citizen. He has to write to participate in democracy. Just because of this selective prosecution, he is not banished from american public life.

I would imagine that John Corzine wishes he could face a fine and some embarrassment. Where he is now is possibly not fun for him.
D’Souza has it exactly right ... he did it the “wrong way” ... not as a Democrat-Socialist (we would never had heard anything about it much less any legal action occurring).
I don’t believe he has discredited himself to those who will look at the facts in light of common sense. We who know something of the dark underbelly of the 0b@m@ regime understand in a sense what is really happening here.
He pled guilty to a felony. He will likely go to prison. He gave them the weapon to use against him and his rights to participate in democracy will now be limited - will he have the right to vote, own a gun, work freely when he has a felony conviction? If he intends to offer knowledge to the rest of us, he should have been smarter, himself.
I am extremely disappointed in him.
Freedom of speech is illegal. You can only occupy the Wall Street and defecate in Central Park, but god forbid if you spend money for the cause.
