VA scandal fits an established Obama narrative: skilled politician, lousy manager
Los Angeles Times ^ | May 24, 2014 | by Doyle McManus

We don't normally expect our presidents to pay close attention to how long veterans are being asked to wait for care in the vast medical system run by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

But we do expect presidents to appoint Cabinet officers and other aides who can run the federal government well — well enough, at least, to prevent full-blown scandals from erupting.

It's an especially dangerous scandal for President Obama because it fits into an established narrative about his presidency: that he's a skilled politician and speechmaker but a lousy manager.

You know, I’m still looking for the source, but I heard the V’s budget for next fiscal year just about doubled...From about 84 billion to about 154 billion...

Any guess as to how well that new revenue will be spent???

It’ll lead to more desk jockeys hell bent on rationing and killing Veterans...

I wonder if this might be enough to stop liberals and their Fabian socialist handlers in their tracks???

I’m betting no...There is not enough political courage to take out the trash anymore...

I expect presidents to follow the Constitution, and FIRE all of these bureaucrats who are running government agencies that should not exist.

Basic Management 101:

#4 - Monitor: Make sure your subordinates are doing what you have assigned to them.

OBAMA = EPIC PAIL

One of the more positive features of the military (my limited twenty-two year period) were ‘audits’, which came up almost yearly and looked at dozens of programs within a unit. You get the impression...that the VA...which is connected in some fashion to 100-percent military members....has never had itself in the middle of an audit.

Ollie North hit it on the nose the other day when he remarked,”The people in Washington don’t give a damn”! Well its time that we don’t “Give a damn” about them. I know I don’t, especially McCain and Flake.

They are actually doing a good job of preventing a full-blown scandal. the FBI, which usually seizes computers and records as soon as possible, has so far done nothing. A “study” has been called for which gives those involved time to destroy evidence.
They have their own definition of “well run”

And neither Obama nor his subordinates understand or practice #4, monitoring.

He’s a skilled Marxist.

*******
He’s also a skilled liar. But even that ‘talent’ is facilitated and enabled by an equally mendacious and complicit media that constantly runs cover for him and refuses to cover his scandals, deceit, and ineptitude.

In America, he gets a pass. But he isn’t fooling the rest of the world. Especially Putin who has nothing but disdain and contempt for the Poseur in Chief.

The people in Washington are only interested in one thing: preserving the system that sustains and enriches them. Period.

Once in power, nobody wants to ever give it up. Their sole goal becomes the perpetuation of their place in system. You almost never see anyone voluntarily leaving DC save for retirement, scandal or ill health. DC becomes their new home. North is right of course; these people don’t give a damn about anything other than themselves.

It's not "These People."

It's ALL people.
That is precisely why it's always a good idea to have as few people in government as possible.

I am GUILTY! I worked in DC. It's a heady brew indeed. Cried (and still cry) like a baby when my team got kicked out in advance of the Magic Mombasa Mulatto Marxist Messiah's arrival. Those of us from flyover country occasionally marvel at how the real reins of everyday government power seem to remain in the hands of the actual descendants of the hordes of small-town, left-wing lawyers who came to town with FDR's programs in the 30's and stayed to found hereditary fiefdoms. That goes from the mail room to Congressional Committees and staffs. Democrats to a man, woman, minority, LGBTG member, etc. Easy to spot. The women all tend to look like heavier Elizabeth Warrens, the "men" like Reggie Love or Al Gore.

The GOP? Don't make me laugh. The bureaucraps who really run things pay them absolutely no mind. Republicans are a minor and fleeting annoyance to them. They make no secret of it.
