The Club for Growth has dropped another $406,153 into Mississippi to back the embattled Chris McDaniel in his primary challenge against Sen. Thad Cochran.
The new money, disclosed in a Federal Election Commission filing, brings to $2.4 million the Club has spent to back Mr. McDaniels tea party-fueled challenge to Mr. Cochran.
The air cover will help Mr. McDaniel in the final 10 days before the states June 3 primary. It comes at a time when his campaign is reeling from the arrests of supporters accused of a conspiracy to photograph Mr. Cochrans bedridden wife, Rose, at her nursing home.

this is actually a very good indication they have internal polling that looks good for McDaniel - they wouldn’t just throw away money at this stage if it did not show he has a real shot at winning.
