CASTRO ALSO traveled with his own chickens. My mother owned a bar and one of the patrons bet her 10 bucks she couldn`t get to talk to Castro on the phone while he was in NY at a UN meeting. She found out the hotel he was staying, called it, got Raul on the phone. He told her that Fidel couldn`t talk coz they were getting the live chickens ready for dinner. True story. She won her 10 bucks.

Castro was always a Communist in name only. His heroes were Hitler and Alexander the Great, not Lenin and Stalin. Raul and Che were the true Communists, and Raul preferred Chinese Communism. The Soviets didn’t like Castro and he didn’t like them, but they had common enemies. He would have loved to have seen the US and the Soviet Union totally destroy each other. I’m sure he had dreams of stepping in and ruling what would have been left of the world.
