The key here is no one is getting a 13 hour brisket that was smoked at their local Arby’s. Some factory in Texas is shipping it all over the country.
Arby’s? YUCK
The sandwich was actually pretty good.
I googled 9 news Duluth, I found what I think might be a broadcast but I’m using Linux so it wouldn’t open, at least without some additional effort.
Just saying though.
Sounds like an interesting show. :D
It was pretty good.
You're supposed to call a doctor after four.
-— Saying there is a right way to air a 13 hour commercial is like saying there is a right way to self-immolate. -—
It’s smart marketing. They’re buying 13 hours in a local market, which will cost them nothing. But it will buy them countless media mentions such as this one. “Arby’s to air longest TV commercial in history.” Etc. The media loves crap like this. No effort. Guaranteed clicks.
LOL. Very true.
While I loathe fast food, I do love Arby’s.
LMAO!
“You’re supposed to call a doctor after four. “
Given the presentation of symptoms no doctor in his right mind would come within 6 inches of the average man, 2 inches of the unfortunate man, or 9 inches of the self-satisfied scum-s*cking SOB.
The new french dip beats a 1/4 lber, especially 2 for $6.
Their fish sandwich is superior too, just ask for extra tartar sauce. 2 for $5.
They’ve been bad.
Got a Smoked Brisket along with a Turkey Club...large curly fries and a large jalapeno poppers.
Let the milkshake slide because I'm watching my weight...
Ate the poppers and fries ...waiting to get some things done and if I have time I'll eat the sandwiches during Svengoolie on MeTV starting at 10PM.
I'll let you know how things come out.
You have a point.
No argument. It is a great marketing gimmick.
But the number of people that watch the entire 13 hour broadcast will be countable on one hand.
The number of ticked off home viewers of this TV station that miss their normal viewing programs will be in the thousands.
This station will reap a cash windfall but the price will be a lot of good will from their viewers.
O.K. for fast food but a tad too greasy. Actually, is was a lot too greasy. The trick in offering slow smoked meats is to get good meat to begin with. I suspect Arby’s profit margin is in poorer cuts or timing that doesn’t complete the job.
Knew someone would get it!
No. But even a BBQ aficionado would prefer to eat BBQ than to watch it on a screen for hours on end.
Not much different than a lot of regular TV anymore - try watching “King of Queens” at night on the Nickelodeon channel - twenty brief commercials go on for five minute or maybe longer spots at a time - but once you’ve seen those old shows enough times you pretty much remember where they’re going so it becomes easier to just drift on another program than to put up with that aggravation once it begins......
