Stealing $16,000 from the account of someone who works at Home Depot as a cashier is pretty drastic, IMO.
I can’t help but thinking some addiction is the cause.

My uncle did much the same. His hounding and embarrassing them by taking them to court over their little savings soon sent them to their graves. Karma settled the score as best as could be by burning him to death in perhaps a preview of his eternity. Lots of evil in this world.
