Eh, I don’t know, I don’t know.
I’m middle aged and lost my good old long time job last year.
Now I seemingly cannot get another one of similar worth.
I do not have a degree and it seems that is really hurting me.
I had very good intellectual reasons for not getting one, like hello 30 years ago.
I’ve got over 20 years of solid on-the-job experience and right now I’m grateful to be doing what is essentially clerical work.
So I see this stuff and I’m not sure I agree.

Not only can they not read, they can’t write either as this same Florida District has also dropped cursive writing.
No problem, Hillary made the statement a long time ago that only a few truly need to be educated to run things.
Every serious, vocational aspirant should get a college-level degree in something; otherwise, expect to be handicapped indefinitely. While there are exceptions, the cost of being the exception is significant.
Remember cursive is old style. The new style is to not be able to read at all, I’m afraid. The young folks seem to be devoid of curiosity, and curiosity is what I look for first in a prospective programmer - or any other job, come to think of it.
Wishing the author wouldn’t sugar coat his thoughts.
I shudder to think what the reaction would have been if he’d been blunt.
Make that intelligence is a constant.
