Rodger drove his black BMW several blocks, went into a delicatessen and shot Christoper Martinez to death, officials said. Martinez was a UC Santa Barbara student.......

Ian Papa said he was inches away on the street when the gunman's car sped up and struck two bicyclists......

He did himself no favors by zeroing in on guns in his emotional statement.
It's odd how still almost nothing is reported about these three murders, only a line or two in every story I've read.

I strongly disagree with you — and I am a member of the NRA. I thought this poor man was obviously and understandably distraught and I do not fault him for anything he says within just days of losing his son.

Don’t know if he was. But it is interesting that his biological mother is from a Muslim country Malaysia. And his current step mother is also from a Muslim country Morocco.
The bizarre thing is that he apparently was able to buy these guns legally, even though he was already, at the time, living in some sort of sheltered residence for the mentally ill. That’s where he killed the first three people (with a knife).
So what does it take to be diagnosed as somebody who should not be allowed to buy a gun?
I also read that his parents and his therapists evidently were alarmed, and they called the police, who interviewed him and decided that he was ok. Then not much later he started killing all these people.
What in the world does it take to get the mentally ill out of circulation, or even appropriately diagnosed in the first place?
Every single one of these mass killings has been committed by someone who was mentally ill, regardless of the means they used to kill.

This distraught, broken hearted father, misspoke in terrible fashion. If anything.....I’d put my money on.....if the kiler of his son and others voted in 2012....that he voted for Obama/Democrats!!! Actually, this sick killer nutcase, evil one would make a perfect paring with Obama’s “Pajama Boy”!!! Sad days for America.

I also noted at Sheriff Brown’s press conference last night, the sheriff set up a poster board with photographs of the three guns.
Why didn’t he also have a poster board with a photograph of the knife used to kill three males?
Why didn’t he also have a poster board with a photograph of the BMW used in the attempted murder of nearly a dozen people?
Yep, we get one or two lines about the knife murders of three males, then dozens and dozens of lines about the gun rampage where the targets were mostly women.
The fact that he murdered three roommates at the start of his spree makes it even more clear just how insane he was.
