I grew up watching the same stuff you did and I think there was a very negative overall portrayal of Injuns on tv.
I did not watch Danell Boone but I did enjoy watching F troop. Most indians on tv were more like “the shugs” and not “the Hekawis”
I stand by my statement that for tv of that era, most of the time the lone white rancher was single handedly holding off about 100 screaming bloodthirsty injuns and when the guy is down to his last bullet, the US caucasian cavalry arrives just in the nick of time.
If we ever needed proof TV was born to craziness, we have it now.
Are half the people in the USA “gay”? You’d think it to look at today’s TV shows.
Of course Dan’l Boone was a specific focus on a specific issue, and dramatized to boot.
And in the old classic kids’ game of cowboys and Indians, getting the Indian role wasn’t considered to be getting the short end of the stick. Lots of pretend tomahawks and scalpings. The cowboys had the thunder sticks, the Injuns their archery, and both rode horses well.
again, you find what you are looking for................
You have been conditioned by the culture..............
You were dumb enough to think all Indians were like F Troop?
