Richard Armitage and Robert Novak could both make the case that they believed Plame not to be an "undercover" operative. The first account of anyone reporting that Plame was "undercover" was David Corn's story that came out a few days after Novak's. In that story, Corn specifically stated that Plame was "undercover" - a classification that Novak and Armitage did not know about. In fact, both Novak and Armitage got their info off the street.

So the focus now rests on Corn who somehow was the only one reporting that Plame was "undercover". Later, Corn would admit that his sole source for the story was Joe Wilson. Thus, Joe Wilson was the one who outed Plame as an "undercover" CIA operative, which is something that Armitage did not do.

"In fairness here, no one went to jail for outing Valerie Plame. "

Judith Miller (then a NYT reporter, now with Fox)went to jail for refusing to divulge her source (which turned out to be Colin Powell).

The really weird thing is that the guy who ACTUALLY outed Plame was Richard Armitage, who was exempted from prosecution or any punishment or even any criticism by the Mainstream Media because he was insufficiently conservative, and thus an undesirable target for the demonization he would have caught if he had been seriously conservative.

...included it in a report sent to a distribution list with over 6,000 recipients

They shouldn't worry about it. Who says 6,000 reporters can't keep a secret?

Look at Fast and Furious, the IRS Scandal, Benghazi, the Birth Certificate, AP spying, NSA abuses, arms to Al Qaeda, massive energy and industry shutdowns because of the EPA, massive voter fraud, stealing of land for federal monuments, hundreds of billions of dollars missing through waste/fraud/abuse and crony corruption, massive unlawful behavior on ObamaCare, etc. Nary a peep. Nobody knows a thing or says anything about any of these, right?

So why worry? The Secret is safe with them. Nobody will know.

Richard Armitage

Yep, the democrat went scot free. The whole circus act by the left was a joke. Plame didn't want Armitage, she was just acting as a stooge for the left.
