You’re right. Having said that, I don’t mean to be too indelicate, FRiend, but if you get hungry enough you’ll eat possum, snake or the a** end out of a skunk.

I once ate rabbit jerky I made myself (starting with a live rabbit).
The last of the jerky I ate after carrying it around wrapped up in a piece of parachute-cloth in the bottom of my sleeping bag for four days.
I would have sold my soul to the devil for more.
I also have the occasional ‘possum/rabbit/squirrel traipsing through my back yard.
Had a bunch of deer a couple of years ago, but locally “deer ebola” (EHD) has nearly wiped them out.
