Can someone explain why Obama is obsessed with supporting Syrian rebels that have pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda?

This is the reason innocent Americans were killed in Benghazi, he was giving them arsenals of weapons to blow up towns, and has already pledged over $160 Million, just that we know of.

What is this obsession? Their neighbor Iran is threatening nuclear destruction, and death to America, and Obama is obsessed with Syria?

Pretty sure Obama and Iran are in cahoots. Is this about narco turf?

I'll answer a question with a question. If Obama were a Muslim supporting transnational Islamists who relish killing Christians and trying to recreate the Greater Caliphate, would he do anything different that he already has throughout the Middle East and North Africa?
