For years conservative activists have prodded the House of Representatives to use their unique Constitutional power of the purse to rein in Obama Administration excesses.
This week, the U.S. House of Representatives is doing just that through a series of amendments that will be considered to the bill that appropriates money for the Departments of Commerce and Justice, along with other science related agencies.
One particularly important rider is being offered by Representative Sean Duffy (R-WI). The Duffy amendment prohibits the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) from using any funds to relinquish the responsibility over the Internet domain name system functions.
In basic terms, Duffys amendment stops funding the Internet giveaway to unknown international governments, corporations and advocacy groups that President Obamas Commerce Department is actively conducting.

WI Representative, Sean Duffy, offers amendment to blunt Obama’s Internet give-away.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Fools think they will stop Obama ,LOL
Sean Duffy bump. If nobama has his way, we can kiss Free Republic and all the conservative web sites and bloggers goodbye. The conservative information web will be stopped dead in it’s tracks.
This is like the Panama Canal giveaway. Once it’s gone it will never come back.
The jackwagon will give away the whole country if he’s not stopped.
I don’t understand how they can NOT use money to NOT do something.
Hell, I don’t even understand internet names. I can pay a monthly fee to godaddy and have my own website. Who did godaddy buy it from? What would I have to do to sell domain names? I’d be willing to do anything if I could get Danica thrown in.

Executive action... What are the republicans going to do about it? Nothing.
Obama you better not give away the internet. The Internet is not the government’s, it is the people’s. The internet is free and people who are using it are free.
I guess Obama "forgot" that the Founders (who lived under tyranny) constructed our govt to smack down tyranny whenever it raised its ugly head. The Founders' attention to this detail actually worked.

Obama Meets Congressional Resistance, Selectively Sulks

It worked. And somehow, the man who is the alleged expert on the Constitution did not perceive that the mechanism of the bicameral Congress and the three branches of government would impede reckless agendas. It worked.
Mr. Obama seems unable to grasp the fact that, as mentioned in Federalist 45 by James Madison, [t]he powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.
The president seems frustrated that he isnt getting his way. In an article in the Washington Times WRT, President Obama taking a swipe at the Founding Fathers, he blames his inability to move his agenda on the 'disadvantage' of having each state represented equally in the Senate.
Progressives would like nothing more than a giant merger of all (Obama's 57) states and national popular voting.
Disappointed and finger-pointing once again, Mr. Obama blames our form of government for not allowing his plans to be implemented. Curiously, Mr. Obama does not point to Harry Reid and his antics in the Senate.(Excerpt) Read more at americanthinker.com ...
The tensions of monarchy, aristocracy and democracy,.......the one, the few and the many, battling each other.....further the tensions of the legislative, executive and judicial, with further checks "by the people" among the states.
Which is exactly why it was set up this way, so that power checks power, passion checks passion, and interest checks interest, "that we may be a government of laws, and not of men."
