Much of Elliot Rodger’s video and written manifestos pointed to a frustration over women not finding him attractive as motive for the killing spree he went on Friday night near UC Santa Barbara that left seven dead including himself. But according to one “expert” on Fox News this weekend, it was his “homosexual impulses” that may have driven him to kill.
Dr. Robi Ludwig, a psychotherapist and reality show host, said her theories about Rodger’s motives began to evolve the more she listened to his disturbing rants. “When I was first listening to him, I was like, ‘Oh, he’s angry with women for rejecting him,’” she told Fox’s Jeanine Pirro. “And then I started to have a different idea: Is this somebody who is trying to fight against his homosexual impulses?”
“Was he angry with women because they were taking away men from him?” she asked. “But this is a kid who couldn’t connect, and felt enraged, and wanted to obliterate anyone that made him feel like a nothing.” Seconds later, she added that even though she had never had a chance to diagnose him in person, she thought he might have had “early signs of schizophrenia.”
When Pirro pointed out that Rodger’s victims including men as well as women, Ludwig asked, “Was he angry at the men for not choosing him? This is a kid who was just angry in general and probably felt rejected, he couldn’t connect, he couldn’t feel loved, he couldn’t feel successful. Maybe he didn’t feel like a real man.”
Following those statements, Pirro wondered why, with all of the apparent problems Rodger had, his school did not do more to alert authorities of his potential for violence. She did not ask why he was able to legally purchase three handguns and

I sincerely believe that if you are a psychotherapist who, like Dr. Robi Ludwig, received your PhD by mail order from a small correspondence school, and if you want to be hired as an on-air psychotherapist consultant by Fox News, it won't hurt for you to be just as cute and as blonde as possible. And, as creepy as that may seem to you, that is reality.
She is a licensed Psychotherapist in New York and you sound like a woman hating nut, why her opinion annoyed you so much is a mystery, but it did cost her, her job with Coldwell Banker.

What I said is that it is no longer possible to know whether her speculation is accurate or inaccurate and that only a quack would pretend to be able to know at this point whether her speculation is accurate or inaccurate.

I read, and oh boy do I need a bath, his “manifesto”. He was obsessed with women, particularly blonde women. Could he have had homo feelings and not recognized them? Sure. But he grew up in Hollyweird where wealth and sex go hand in hand. And given we’re talking Hollyweird here, I’m sure if he had wanted; there were plenty of pedophile homos there that would have been more than happy to help with his troubles.
He indetified wih it - the illusion of money and sex- so much, that he demanded that his mother marry a wealthy man so he could enjoy the status and adoration of women that was rightfully his.

The parents claim he was seeing “professionals” since he was 8 and on meds. But his narrative says otherwise. Was he lying, or blocking it? Perhaps. But he didn’t seem to have trouble talking about a lot of things, including shrinks later on, and meds that he researched on line before refusing to take them. I don’t know. Perhaps the parents are in CYA mode on advice of lawyers and publicists.
It’s the California way. Much easier to blame the gun, and the knife, and the 3,000lb. Automobile. But mostly the gun.

a true professional would have admitted they did not have enough close-up info from and about the shooter to be speculating on his sexual orientation; there are many motives outside of any sexual orientation issues to explain his rantings and his actions and all more likely by the bare facts that the speculations of the so-called doctor

That and the fact this kid had YEARS of on-line role playing games (World of Warcraft) often does serious damage to young people.
Until all of this is subject to serious scientific analysis and study, there will be no progress on WHY people have various types of sexual tendencies or orientations.
As such, there will be no serious study or any pursuit of a cure for pedophilia.
The ONLY study proximate to this will be studies on autism, which is so broad a diagnostic conclusion that you can’t really use it.
In the end, a human being’s sexual response is no different than their responses to other types of external stimuli.
Synesthesia is a condition where one smells or tastes something in response to looking at certain colors. Seeing the color orange may produce the sensation of smelling coffee, or sawdust, or roses.
Synesthesia isn’t killing anybody, but if you had the money and the interest in delving to the bottom of that particular condition, it may bear fruit on every other external stimuli-inappropriate involuntary response type condition.
Not that this will ever happen. No serious study of homosexuality or pedophilia, unless it is calculated specifically for the promotion of societal normalization of either, will be permitted. The preliminary research that had been allowed in the past indicates relationships between psychology and either homosexuality or pedophilia. That’s too broad and unscientific to be useful, but its enough to know that if you are for the politicization of either condition, you don’t want any more research in the area to be conducted.

Yes, Dr. Ludvig’s speculation was just that, speculation. As much as I despise the gaystapo, whether this psycho had some homo- or bisexual tendencies is irrelevant, he was just that, a psycho who thought the world owed him something.
The doctor is the shrink on Fox.
