Moscow’s lies about Ukraine brutally exposed
Ukraine News One ^ | 26 may 2014 | Ukraine News One

Ukraine’s presidential elections have been lauded as a great success with record voter turnout for a clean and democratic vote which saw ‘chocolate king’ Petro Poroshenko win by a landslide and invigorate hope that Ukraine may have turned a corner.

But the election results have also underlined the breathless determination of the Kremlin to distort, fabricate and disseminate news in a campaign of demonisation against Ukraine.

Moscow’s propaganda machine hit new heights of absurdity on Sunday when Russia’s First TV channel reported that the Kremlin's No. 1 bogeyman, Dmytro Yarosh, leader of the far-right Pravy Sektor Party was leading the presidential race with 37% of the votes, with Petro Poroshenko trailing far behind on 29 percent.

The uncomfortable truth for Moscow however was that Pravy Sector’s Dmytro Yarosh and the other far-right nationalist party leader Oleg Tyahnybok of Svoboda couldn’t even muster 1% of the vote between them.

The Kremlin’s lies about Ukraine are further exposed by the performance of Jewish oligarch Vadim Rabinovych who, with 2% of the vote got double the amount of the far-right parties combined.

This in a country, according to the Russian president, where Jews are not safe and pogroms are making a big comeback.

By current European standards, with far-right parties sweeping to victory in European elections this week, support for the far right is lower in Ukraine than in virtually any other European nation.

Interesting that you would identify them as Jewish. You have a problem with that . . . ?

I’d agree that that is probably the sentiment of the majority of average Ukrainians, even in the East. And I stand with them on that.

But these guys are robber barons who probably oppose Putin more because they fear he will confiscate their money and assets and give them to Russian oligarchs instead.

As a network owned and operated by these guys, they are probably extremely biased.

It’s relevant when the the article I linked has a network called ‘Jewish News One’ turning into “Ukraine News One’, and is referred to in the article as Ukrainian Jewish businessmen.

All networks are biased and people have every right to spread their ideas and thoughts and opinions.

I see very little different in either side on Ukraine, I hope the people of that country can find a way to bring about some serious changes.

I hope so too. The problem I see with Ukraine currently is that even if Putin and his Russian insurgents are removed from Ukraine, that it will be back to business for the Ukrainian oligarchs.

These are the guys who have been pillaging the country, often with Russian complicity. These oligarchs and their political pawns must be removed before freedom and prosperity can truly bloom in Ukraine.

Hopefully Poroshenko can work towards that, although I’m not too hopeful considering that Poroshenko himself isan oligarch. Not to mention that the very same oligarchs corrupted the 2004 Orange Revolution in a very similar way.

Many of the guys who were in the Maidan protest are now front line Ukrainian troops. Poroshenko is being watched closely and they won’t be allowing “business as usual”. Too much blood has been spilled for that.

Apparently Victoria Nuland has been running around Europe voting for nutballs in an effort to discredit the Russian position RE “fascist” Ukraine.

I had hopes for Poroshenko but attacking Donetsk on his first day in office tells me nothing has changed and this won't be resolved anytime soon.

~These are the guys who have been pillaging the country, often with Russian complicity~

What about a complicity of other players?
You mean there are saint Ukrainian ‘businessmen’ who are pro-Western contrary to evil pro-Russian ‘oligarchs’? LOL!

I think propaganda from both sides has made absolutely distorted perception of things going on there.

Ukraine's oligarchs and overall economy is tied much closer to Russia for historical and geopolitical reasons. The West is kind of farther away on both these things, so not really.

Even Yulia "Gas Princess" Tymoshenko and Petro "Chocolate King" Poroshenko made huge chunks of their fortune dealing with Russia. Yulia was tossed into prison over allegations for corruption in a gas deal with Russia, not Europe. There's a reason for that.

Russian media are using photos from Syria to tell the world about the "children, murdered in Ukraine"... The phony post above says: "I cannot hold my tears... This 8 y.o. child is wounded near Donetsk airport". The post below shows the same child, but he was wounded during shooting near Aleppo, Syria. Российские СМИ растиражировали информацию о ранении ребенка в Донецке. Как это было.

......Yulia “Gas Princess” Tymoshenko and Petro “Chocolate King” Poroshenko made huge chunks of their fortune dealing with Russia......

That’s correct....not to mention these two had a major falling out while they were serving in the Keiv Gov. Yulia will do what is necessary to retain and or regain power within Ukraine. It will be interesting to see if she will have a roll in the Gov. or not this time around.

For now Yats will remain the Prime Minister according to Porsh. These two have worked together in the past Ukraine Gov. Yats is the “money man” or Banker Buddy. He’s the one who got Ukraine’s gold out of Ukraine the first week.

I don’t think they want to give Yulia a role...she is was known to be divisive and a pain in getting things done. I don’t think they want to deal with her again. However they might have to.
