Feinstein’s comments on UCSB shooting

WASHINGTON, May 29, 2014 — There are many people looking for someone to blame in the wake of the UCSB shootings last week. It is understandable that with the actual perpetrator being dead, the public is looking for someone to chastise, or to place responsibility upon. For Senator Dianne Feinstein, that someone is the NRA and the entire gun lobby.

In a speech made Sunday shortly following the tragic events in California, the longtime anti-gun senator made a few interesting remarks that bear some analysis.

The Senator had some questions for the public.

“We must ask ourselves if an individual whose family called police with concerns about mental health, who is receiving therapy and who has had several run-ins with police should be allowed to own multiple firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.”

These are interesting ideas to bring up. What if?

If an individual whose family called the police concerned about their sons mental well-being and suggested he may be a danger to society, one would think that it is the job of the police and the authorities in general to respond. It seems the criminal mental health system in California allowed for this boy to slip through the cracks. This is important to note, because in California mental health records are examined when an individual attempts to purchase a firearm. If a therapist believes an individual is a danger, he may be barred from purchasing a firearm, let alone multiple firearms. In addition, multiple firearm purchases in California are automatically brought to the attention of the ATFE.

How is it possible that authorities in a state that ties mental health to gun ownership allow this boy to own a firearm? It would seem as though the police in this boy’s hometown did not do their jobs in actually investigating the claims made by the parents concerning the boy’s mental health.

“When anyone, no matter their mental health or history, can so easily obtain any gun they want and as many as they want—we must recognize there is a problem.”

This is a scare tactic plain and simple. Feinstein is using this boy’s actions to enhance her anti-gun agenda by making statements that are false that no one will be able to counter to her face. Again, in California if the therapist has done their job, and is not incompetent, the boy should have never been able to get any kind of firearms. And of course Feinstein’s claims that they can get whatever gun, whenever they want, which is false. You need permitting, you need fingerprinting in California, there are many restrictions on the kind of weapon you can have, even around the country. You cannot simply get any gun, anywhere, anytime. It does not work like that, and she knows it does not work like that. She is simply using this event as a platform to scare the public into supporting further gun control, despite the fact that California has some of the toughest laws in the country.

“Unfortunately the NRA continues to have a stranglehold on Congress, preventing even commonsense measures like universal background checks that have overwhelming support.”

Here we come to the core of her hatred, the target of almost all of her efforts in the Senate, the gun lobby. A background check, linked to mental health records, did not stop this boy from buying a firearm much less three firearms. Background checks are already the rule of law. You cannot go into any gun store in this country and legally purchase a firearm without a background check. The only thing that is not covered in most states is sales between private individuals, which is still legal. However the overwhelming majority of gun sales and transfers involve background checks. Again, she knows this.

Feinstein loves to throw dirt on the NRA. To her the word “NRA” is the conglomerate for the “gun lobby.” She hates them because they stand in the way of her desire to disarm the entire country. If she had her way, she would. In 1995 she tried to get the votes for an outright gun ban. “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them . . . Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in, I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren’t here.” She uses words like “commonsense” to make it seem like what she wants is not a big deal. She uses phrases such as “overwhelming support” to show you that might means right, people agree with her so that must mean that it is the right thing to do.

“Americans need to rise up and say enough is enough. Until that happens, we will continue to see these devastating attacks. Shame on us for allowing this to continue.”

Her home state is the home to arguably the most stringent gun laws in the country. Her state is also home to two of the top ten most violent cities in the nation, her violent crime rate approaches the top ten list every year. But the problem nationwide for Dianne Feinstein is that violent crime is on the decline around the country. Despite the best efforts of Democratic politicians, and the Liberal media, preliminary reports from the first half of 2013 show a drop in violent crime in every region of the country. In addition, “mass shootings” are neither up nor down, the rate changing every year. We are not in the midst of a violent crime epidemic, we are not in the midst of a surge in mass shootings, but we are in the midst of a media blitz from people who wish for you to believe that we are.

The Senator is right, Americans do need to rise up. Rise up, and wise up. Do your own research, trust by verify. This is a woman who has made her living sneering the gun lobby, deriding gun owners, and damning the money that they send to politicians to speak for them in Washington, all while Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety get $50,000,000 from Michael Bloomberg to donate to anti-gun politicians.

What Dianne Feinstein won’t talk about is the fact that every single day Americans do rise up, every single day Americans use their firearms to protect themselves. Earlier this week in Orosi, California the eldest brother of four successfully defended his siblings, with a firearm, from three armed men attempting to enter their home. Earlier this month in Sacramento two senior citizens defended themselves against two individuals trying to break into their home, they did so with a firearm.

California is already considering new gun control legislation, as are several other states. Aside from an outright ban, there is not much wiggle room for them to go in terms of new restrictions. Instead of California looking at guns to blame and passing new gun control measures, perhaps they should look into how the therapist failed to report this man, and why the parents cries for help to the police amounted to nothing.

The USA needs a law banning gallactically stupid Senators and Representatives. Not much chance of that either. The rule is..if you've failed at everything else try politics!

I’d love to see how Hollywood would react if DiFi proposed that no movie, TV show or rap video could include any depiction of any firearm - for the children, of course...

She carried a gun in CA after Moscone was shot. For protection.

Equality in the Constitution means equal treatment under the law.
No “more equal than others” class.
Our Congress and President have forgotten that principle

California needs a law banning sharp objects and BMWs.

Blunt objects, too, since the first three murders involved use of a hammer as well as a machete.

(Or maybe California needs a law that allows crazy people who are a danger to themselves and others to be kept in soft, safe padded cells. But since that would by definition include many California politicians, it's not likely to happen.)

Di/Fi's aversion to guns did not prevent her from honoring Raymond Chow---the key figure in gun grabber state Sen Leland Yee's shocking missile deal w/ China.

INCONVENIENT FACTOIDS:

<><>Feinstein heads the Senate Intel Committee;

<><> Her hubby Richard Blum made million as the lawyer for Chinese interests;

<><> gun-grabber Leland Yee knew where to get missiles, launchers, machine-guns etc;

<><> Raymond Chow was jailed, then freed when he professed to be a “really nice guy”.... honored by Di/Fi for working with local Chinese youths.

====================================================

And let's not forget Intel head Di/Fi's whining about the CIA looking through her computers and taking documents....they had their eyes on her...... even BEFORE the shocking YEE missile scandal broke.

THE DI/FI STORY COULD DWARF YEE'S TERRORSTIC CORRUPTION : LAT should now get on the ball, and investigate Di/Fi's intel activities. Did Di use her access to valuable US security data improperly? Hubby Richard Blum made millions in China deals in past years. How'd he do that? Is hubby cutting new deals w/ the Chi/Coms?

===============================================

THIS DI/FI HILLARY SUCK-UP WAS VERY INSTRUCTIVE---DI even dropped the term "foreign policy" “In my view, she’s in the prime of her political life. She’s got the energy. She’s articulate. She’s got the background. She’s got the smarts. She has all of the elements of a good leader plus the fact, and this is not to be underestimated, she is enormously attractive to people,” she said on CNN's "State of the Union." “And she carries the torch for women who are the majority of votes in this country, very strongly and very high.”

Hillary's hefty income includes:

Hualuo CEO Forum (Spouse) Shanghai, China $550,000

Telefonaktiebolagel LM Ericsson AB (Spouse) Hong Kong, China $750,000

Without conservatism so-called liberalism and progressivism would quickly devolve to chaos.

You should have seen what happened to TV back in 1968 after Bobby Kennedy was murdered. America went into an anti-gun hysteria in which good TV shows were dumbed down to kiddy shows, guns were constantly shown as “bad”, there were advertizements to “turn in your guns”.

But the Movie Industry said they would police themselves with a joke of a rating system. They proceeded to churn out the most vile, bloody and perverse movies possible.

Today’s TV shows are many times more violent and crude than they were before 1968.

Lets see,

Guns legal in Cali-check.
Guns pass Cali safety rules-check.
BATF forms filled out-check.
10 day waiting period completed-check.
NICS required background checks done-check.
10 round magazine rule observed-check.

So how did it work out for you all in Santa Barbara!

I know! I know! A firing pin microstamp! That would have stopped it!
Oh yea, also an electronic shooter ID system so only the owner of the firearm can fire it!

Oh yea, one more thing! Non-Lead ammo! That would have stopped it! Don’t want Condors dieing when they eat the carcass now would we? Maybe a solid brass bullet or a pie-in-the-sky bullet!

Maybe an Electric Knife for the ignored half who were stabbed.

This is a very good post! You need to send it to DiFi and see what she thinks about the facts.
