AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka issued the following statement in response to the ongoing deportation crisis in the U.S.:
We face a grave moral crisis on immigration reform. Our long-held belief is that every possible step that could be taken should be taken with great urgency. We reiterate our urgent plea that all political leaders, in both branches, act without delay to end the deportation crisis.
That means that the executive branch must provide all those who would qualify for citizenship under the bipartisan Senate Bill affirmative status with work authorization, as laid out in our policy statement.
And that means that Republican leaders must stop catering to extremists and pursue sound public policy by immediately scheduling a vote on HR 15, the House version of the bipartisan Senate immigration bill.
I don't like unions,I work hard, get paid decent and get 7 weeks paid vacation a year.
Why would I pay dues to a union?
Thanks mdittmar.
Trumka is a fool. There is absolutely no guarantee these illegals will join a union. None whatsoever. The trend in private sector union membership is down.
He’s arguing for wage suppression for his existing membership.
Trumka is a fat commie slob who wouldn’t last 10 seconds in a ring with a kitten.
I'm a compassionate man and I fully agree. Keep the families together, in Mexico!

Very cool!...Now, who do you work for?

We have a DEPORTATION CRISIS? Yes, we don’t deport enough...
Does Trumka want to unionize welfare recipiants. He must realize that the Asian immigrants have no use for unions.
Maybe Trumka got the wink that says he will be allowed to exploit them into union positions and both he and the Dims win on the wet backs of those who blindly toil for them.

He’s running against John Dingell’s wife in the next district over from me.
