Just one problem: Not in a million years, I’d bet, would Romney accept a task as thanklessly Sisyphean as managing the VA. No one — no one — is going to turn the agency around and he surely knows it. So does Obama, I expect, which is why he’d happily offer a Republican like Romney the job if he thought he’d take it. It would make the next two years of VA failures thoroughly bipartisan, with zero risk that the new manager would embarrass O by succeeding where his Democratic administration had failed.

Amazing how when a “Republican” is in office everything has to be bipartisan. If a Democrat is in office the “bipartisan” label is dropped.

Want to fix the VA. Give the job to Lt. General Robb. He runs The Defense Health Agency and is doing a great job with reorganizing that.

Want to REALLY fix the VA problem? Give vets good health insurance and fire the entire VA department, top to bottom.

Take the current budget of the VA, divide by the number of vets served, give the vets a voucher for that amount which they can use towards getting a plan from the provider of their choice.
