On Friday, failed 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney said it wasn't healthy that Congress has not passed amnesty legislation that the Congressional Budget Office determined would lower the wages of American workers.
"I do believe it's important for us, before the presidential contest in 2016, to finally have immigration reform in place," Romney said, according to The Des Moines Register's Jennifer Jacobs. "I just don't think it's healthy for the country to continue to have this issue open and unresolved, particularly with so many families that are waiting for the answers."
Romney said he was not for a "special" pathway to citizenship and reportedly added "time is running out for" Congress to pass amnesty legislation this year.

Anyone else notice that it’s only Republicans who are out making statements about amnesty and the Dems are mostly quiet? They’ve completely bought the lie that Republicans need to get the Hispanic vote, ergo they must support amnesty.

My jaw dropped when I saw Mitt denying his illegals in the 2007 debate, and was not surprised what came of it a week later (well, surprised but not totally shocked).
Governor Mitt and wife Ann, were interacting with the Guatemalan illegals at their private home for 10 years. The landscaper that the illegals worked for, was a naturalized Colombian himself, personally chosen by Mitt, (A naturalized Colombian, Guatemalan illegals, and a sitting Governor during 4 years of that period), IDs better have been checked.
In December of 2006, the republican Governor was exposed, and suffered national embarrassment for using illegals for 10 years.
In December of 2007, in a national debate, Rudy Giuliani accused Mitt Romney of having run a “Sanctuary Mansion”. On national TV, Mitt Romney indignantly denied the claim.
A few days after the debate, the Boston Globe decided to look again at Mitt’s house, and guess what, they found Guatemalan illegals, they were working for the same Colombian, MITT HAD NEVER FIRED THEM!
Ten years and a national scandal, turned into 11 years, and into a second national scandal, with all the same players, the same “contractor”, Guatemalan illegals, and the same Mitt Romney and his wife interacting with them at their home during the week.
Go away, Mitt.

I ended up supporting Romney when Palin decided not to run last time, and we didn’t seem to have any other real strong candidates.

There are lots of American families who are waiting to find out if Congress or the President will further reduce their earnings potential and standard of living by granting amnesty to millions of illegals and encouraging more to come. These rich politicians are out of touch with ordinary American’s who are struggling to maintain a middle class life. At the same time they are paying big bucks for health insurance while the illegals get it free and they are having their kids go to substandard schools where the emphasis is on giving services to moron’s from the third world.
If any of these politician’s lived in the same world..they would see things differently. Instead they are thinking of the welfare of their gardener, nanny, house cleaner and handyman...who are illegals.

I’m not saying the legal immigration system isn’t defective, it is, with the wrong incentives and the wrong priorities, but still, I don’t understand why all these people insist that immigration is a particular problem now. Its been a problem everyone has lived with for 40+ years and isn’t especially pressing at the moment. The illegal alien numbers aren’t increasing rapidly, not like a decade or two ago. They might even be declining. Something is mysterious here.
Why the rush ? Why now ?
If anything could drive me to conspiracy theories its this unexplained, unjustified, and obviously coordinated campaign. Someone unknown wants something specific out of this. If we had a press worthy of the name this would be out in the open.
Mitt Romney, American? I don’t think so! Oh, I don’t mean where he was born, I am talking about his heart. I know many immigrants, like my parents, who are much more American than this asshat and people like Juanita McCain, Shrillery Clintoon, John Boner, etal! They don’t have America in their hearts and souls, or the true desire to preserve, protect and defend her, despite any oaths they may have taken. As my Mother puts it, the children in America, as a whole, do not understand what they have and so will never realize until too late what they have lost.
