Educator and Navy reservist Phillip Parrish dropped out of the GOP Senate endorsement race following the third ballot Friday, instead throwing his support behind State Sen. Julianne Ortman while Chris Dahlberg continues to hold a commanding lead.
With four candidates remaining, Parrish received 11 percent of votes--enough to remain on the ballot, but far behind Julianne Ortman, Mike McFadden and the leader, Chris Dahlberg. Immediately after the results were read, he approached the podium to cheers from the crowd.
"I mean no disrespect to the other candidates," he said before throwing his support behind Ortman, saying she was the No. 1 candidate he could trust to act.

Before or after Sarah came to MN?
Well the convention is currently going on so I would think after. Balloting continues today but I don’t know anything about how it works.
If it works like Massachusetts, you’d need a certain percentage to get on the primary ballot. Then there’s a primary to choose the nominee.
So then, the Convention does NOT choose the candidate. That’s good news.

Actually, I guess they did. It’s Mike McFadden.
That was for endorsement. If the others want they can still run in the primary.
