Michelle Obama's Crazy, Embarrassing Potato Manifesto
American Thinker ^ | May 31, 2014 | By Susan D. Harris

It was eleven o’clock at night and the lady in front of me in the supermarket line was buying jars of baby food and bottles of Pedialyte. The cashier pulled some of the jars aside and told the lady they weren’t covered under the WIC program. “But you didn’t have the ones I can buy, the shelf is empty. I can’t buy the other ones because he won’t eat them,” the customer said.

“I’m sorry, maybe if you call WIC you can get permission to buy these, but I can’t do anything about it,” the cashier responded.

-snip-

So when I began reading Michelle Obama’s “potato manifesto” in the New York Times yesterday, I found myself sputtering and stammering again; but there was nothing quiet about my anger. “Institute of Medicine be damned!” I grumbled. “Why is Michelle Obama writing an opinion piece on white potatoes? Stay out of our lives! Stay out of our children’s lives!”

Apparently the potato, when brought to Europe, stabilized the grain-based food supply to such an extent that the population experienced an enormous boom previously unsustainable.

I don’t feel sorry for this woman at all. If she doesn’t like the rules, then she should purchase what she wants with money she can earn from a job. No jobs available? Then she can thank for whom she voted.

I have three kids under six. They didn’t have formula and I made all of their baby food, usually with what I grew/grow on my back yard.

This woman gets no sympathy from me.

I always think about Obama’s common folk comment on buying arugula at Whole Foods.

It happens to be the case that “white” fills tummies, whether it’s white potatoes, white pasta or white rice. Perhaps not the nutritional value Her HIghness would have the peasants eat, but a helluva lot cheaper, especially for struggling families that have several mouths to feed. None of her freakin business what families choose to eat.

I wish someone would get a copy of the lunch menu at Sidwell friends and publish it all over the place.

As many a Rabbi has noted, very few slaves dream of being free. They dream of being master.

Most interesting is to listen to the phraseology, the cadence of the words, the choices of the words and phrases themselves, the introductory clauses, and how the whole thing is put together. It’s completely familiar. . . It sounds plagiarized.

It becomes quite clear to me that this column, speech, manifesto, was NOT written by Michelle, unless she is the author of every word that appears on Barack’s TelePrompTers, all of them, because it sounds and moves EXACTLY the same!

The only thing that most probably eat is the all beef hotdog. It would be the only thing that fills you up for more than one hour. Love it that you got that.

LOL black beans, black-eyed peas, blackberries, blackened catfish, wash it down with some black iced tea, that’s what comes to mind immediately.

My trick is to chop it into small pieces for a stir-fry. Between the soy sauce and garlic and all the vegetables going on, you’ll never know.

Christianity does not mean taking from the producers to give to those who won’t help themselves. If you believe the opposite of that, go over to DU.
