WASHINGTON (AP) -- Two Republican lawmakers say President Barack Obama violated U.S. laws when he approved the exchange of an American soldier believed held by Islamist insurgents for five years for five Afghan detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Congressman Howard "Buck" McKeon of California and Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma said Saturday in a statement that Obama is required by law to notify Congress 30 days before any transfer of terrorists from the U.S. detention facility.

Actually, with Obama it happens on a daily basis. But since you won't impeach him, he has free rein to be our first lawless President. Any wonder I despise the GOP? The Democrats are evil. We know that. The GOP is supposed to be different. Most of the time, it's hard to see the difference.
Forget the political Party, every President who has ever used signing statements is wrong. It is unconstitutional. It is like a line-item veto without the authority to do so.
they are going to draft a strongly worded letter, pound their chests and then do nothing.
That may be true, but this was, in this case, a veto of the entire law and it’s surprising that the GOP is surprised now. Nobody noticed what he said until now? Or didn’t believe he would act on it?
I’d have to say this is undeniably treason on Obama’s part.
I think well find that this guy was a willing prisoner
I think you’re a lot more right on this than you know. Let 5 terrorist go bring one potential terrorist back to US. The whole thing smells.
and..... not to worry about the eunuch Republicans they bark a little but thats all.
Since we no longer have need for any of our laws, according to the odumbo ilk, then why do we need an attorney general? Get rid of him.
The story about this soldier is he deserted and went over to the other side. We have now given 5 battle hardened men to attack us again.
Obama and his thugs have American blood on their hands.
