The Obama administration, after failing to get gun control passed on Capitol Hill, has resorted to using its executive power to try to put some in the firearms industry out of business, House Republican investigators say.

The assertion is included in a report recently released by California GOP Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Citing internal Justice Department documents, the committee concluded that the administration used a program known as Operation Choke Point to target legal companies that it finds “objectionable.”

The program was started in 2013 to protect consumers by “choking” alleged fraudsters’ access to the banking system. The Justice Department essentially forces banks and third-party payment processors to stop accepting payments from companies that are considered “high risk” and are supposedly violating federal law. …

Then why aren't charges leveled, and people put in prison?

Start going after the people in this administration.  Congress can do a lot more than it has.

Best way to fight back is for a concerned citizens to leave the cooperating banks.

TD Bank is affiliated with TD Ameritrade.

Let’s see what happens when Millions/Billions move their IRAs.

the federal government lumped the firearms industry in with other "high-risk" businesses including those dealing with pornography, drug paraphernalia, escort services, racist materials, Ponzi schemes and online gambling.

Thug b@st@rds. Holder needs a good @sswhoopin'. Too bad that's illegal.

DOJ accused of targeting gun industry with ‘Choke Point’ program

That is so disheartening...

Even Fox News can't resist couching headlines in PC terms.
There is no "accused of" involved!Any rational, informed mentally healthy adult can see the facts, and come to any other conclusion!

Dang it!!

Previous Freeper Thread ...

Here is a list of businesses claimed (by the DOJ) to have been targeted with operation "Choke Point". The administration characterization of "high risk" seems to translate into "Those I do not like." These "High Risk" merchant categories are listed on an fdic.gov site:

Ammunition Sales
Cable Box De-scramblers
Coin Dealers
Credit Card Schemes
Credit Repair Services
Dating Services
Debt Consolidation Scams
Drug Paraphernalia
Escort Services
Firearms Sales
Fireworks Sales
Get Rich Products
Government Grants
Home-Based Charities
Life-Time Guarantees
Life-Time Memberships
Lottery Sales
Mailing Lists/Personal Info
Money Transfer Networks
On-line Gambling
PayDay Loans
Pharmaceutical Sales
Ponzi Schemes
Pornography
Pyramid-Type Sales
Racist Materials
Surveillance Equipment
Telemarketing
Tobacco Sales
Travel Clubs

I won't bother to waste time searching for authorizing sections of the constitution, but aside from the only two of those items that are explicitly and unambiguously and unassailable, not as part of the Constitution, but as the given foundation upon which the original Constitution was made possible at all, what do all those items have in common?.

Better than an asswhooping, is a political defeat. One way I believe this can be accomplished is to employ BitCoin. See if you cannot think of some other ones?

We can beat them. We need to use our brains.

That is to admit defeat and jst encourages the "First moron!" A better, more direct solution is to demand that our elected Representatives do their job. They seem to have rented some cojones lately...
Demand that our Representatives pass a bill defunding any approved budget action on this unconstitutional revenue causing Executive order, and any other existing or proposed budget funds which might be tapped to transfer to enabling this illegal act.

Enough is enough!

We're talking an open-ended order perpetually wasting billions$ based on a proven fraud.
Follow the money. Who benefits?

They did this to online lenders a year ago.

I have this little nagging suspicion of bitcoin...

what if the left, those preparing the way of the anti-christ, WANT something like bitcoin to take over instead of currency,

so that it can be more easily controlled?

I JUST THOUGHT OF A SOLUTION

? Congress can act like Holder and the President and simply make up law. They can issue funds to create a bank that will cater to gun and ammunition sales companies.

Let Holder come after THAT.

"Obviously" only if We, the People, don't act. Both in (written) word and in deed.
