The question of impeachment turns on the meaning of the phrase in the Constitution at Art. II Sec. 4, "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors". I have carefully researched the origin of the phrase "high crimes and misdemeanors" and its meaning to the Framers, and found that the key to understanding it is the word "high". It does not mean "more serious". It refers to those punishable offenses that only apply to high persons, that is, to public officials, those who, because of their official status, are under special obligations that ordinary persons are not under, and which could not be meaningfully applied or justly punished if committed by ordinary persons.

It takes enough members of Congress who are not Democrats uber allies and/or don’t have their face in Democrat butts to go forward. Not in this Congress; that’s for sure.
Sorry, but the GOP has no backbone to impeach Obama and even less will to remove him from office.

If the Haqqanis are going to do a prisoner swap, Haji Mali Kahn is unquestionably the person they’d ask for. They have been working day and night to get him returned. Yet his name wasn’t mentioned in regard to releasing Sgt. Bergdahl?
Perhaps they did ask for him. Maybe Kahn is such a bad guy that even the Obama Administration said, “absolutely no way.” If that were the case, the Haqqanis would simply default to asking for more money. That’s what they do. Eventually a price would be reached and a deal would be struck. So then why release the Afghan Taliban prisoners from Gitmo at all? Better yet, why was the U.S. even negotiating with the Quetta Shura when it was the Haqqanis who had Sgt. Bergdahl?
None of this make any sense- unless something else was going on.
If the Obama Administration did pay a ransom to the Haqqanis – through the Quetta Shura, the Pakistani ISI, or via a wealthy Middle Eastern Haqqani supporter acting as a middleman – the United States would have knowingly funded a terrorist organization. The United States would need a big fig leaf to hide that funding from the public and the Afghan Taliban/Quetta Shura would have gladly played along. They would have also made the United States pay through the nose for that cooperation. Judging by the list of terrorists the U.S. was forced to release, that’s one possible interpretation of what happened.
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s release raises many more questions than it answers. But will anyone in the mainstream media ask those questions? Will any of them discuss the recidivism rate of Gitmo detainees who, once released back into the wild, return to terrorism? How about the lives and limbs lost in the effort to capture those Gitmo detainees in the first place? What about the possibility that the Obama Administration may have directly funded a terrorist organization responsible for slaughtering American military personnel and countless innocent civilians?
Egad, don’t use the words, “impeach” and “Obama” in the same sentence.
So, they want to keep the feral youth quiet so they can pretend they have “solved” the black crime problem in major cites. Got it.
A “High Crime” to me is ANY crime that is a Federal felony.
I believe I saw a headline where the Democrat members of the Benghazi Committee viewed their jobs as being “defensive”. Are they defending the American people? We pay their salaries. Obama and the Democrat Party don’t pay them. They don’t work for Obama or the Democrat Party.
If these Democrats are going to be Democrats before they are Americans, maybe we better just let them start paying for ALL the Democrats in the government.
It’s a hell of a deal to control government employees using money you take from people working in the private sector.

It is easy to propose impossible remedies.
If they can’t impeach this bastard they might as well remove impeachment and treason from the Constitution.

whether ‘we’ have a majority in Congress or not, somebody needs to file the impeachment paperwork anyway and get it on record.

Impeachment is NEVER EVER EVER EVER gonna happen. Not for Obama, Not for any President. Except maybe a Pubbie who’s unfortunate enough to have Democrat supermajorities opposing him.
It’s all about party loyalty, not what’s right for the country. And frankly the numbers just will never add up.
There’s a guy running around out there arguing that we should adopt the Parliamentary system, and one of his arguments is that Obama would surely have lost a no-confidence vote by now and he’d be gone. Structurally it just can’t happen with our current impeachment process (based as it is on the belief that Members of Congress would actually act on principle)
Reminds me of “St. Elsewhere” episode right before Anthony Edwards’ character gets raped in prison: “I graduated from nurses a long time ago”...
