Chicago Police investigate shooting at a laundromat on 79th Street on Monday night.

CAPTIONS

Seven people have been shot tonight including a 14-year-old at a coin laundry in the South Chicago neighborhood, authorities said.

Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said an EMS Plan I, which automatically sends at least five ambulances to the scene, was called about 8:20 p.m. for a shooting in the 7900 block of South Marquette Avenue.

Many of the victims were "laid out" on the floor of the coin laundry in the 2600 block of East 79th Street, said Langford. The laundry's glass window was shattered and police are running around trying to interview people, said Langford.

"Most of" the shooting happened at the laundry, said Langford.

The 14-year-old victim was taken in serious to critical condition to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, said Langford, who said most of the victims were "young adults.''

Langford said one person was taken in serious to critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, two victims who were in fair to serious condition were taken to South Shore Hospital, one was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious to critical condition, and one was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The seventh victim was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in fair to serious condition, Langford said.

We live in a bizarro world where the writing is on the wall for everyone to see regarding politics, race, crime statistics, financial problems, drugs, and homicide. The numbers are there. Endemic poverty and victimhood nurtured by the siren’s song of socialism and a corrupt government. And the band played on.

Practically every single day this type of this is reported. 5 killed, 8, 16 killed in Chicago.

Why anyone in their right mind would live there unless they just could NOT get a job anywhere else, I have no idea.

And a razor in his shoe.

Well, California has shown us the solution to gun crime.

Banning more guns.

It should work in Chicago. Right?

Can I get an amen?

Amen!

Guns kill people, non-law abiding citizens never do anything of the sort.

Should so many in America lose their 2A rights due to the violent nature of another race?

My thoughts too. I encounter reasonable black people all the time. But the percentage of unreasonable trouble making wild men and women and teens is too damn high

Chicago has the toughest gun laws in the country! Heck, it’s a gun free zone! How come the local gangsters didn’t obey the law?

Criminals aren’t obeying the law, let’s hire multi-million dollar consultants to find out why!

I can’t figure out if liberals are primarily stupid or primarily evil.

Nope. I heard that a couple of the malls around Chicago have a curfew now where no minor under 18 years old is permitted without an adult. I don’t need to spell out why. I remember as a young teen taking the bus with my girlfriends to go hang out at the mall. I can’t imagine having had to drag one of our parents along each time. As with anything a few bad apples (or in some places a whole lot) ruin it for everyone.

“Chicago has the toughest gun laws in the country! Heck, it’s a gun free zone! How come the local gangsters didn’t obey the law?” Well put, Gunpowder.

Maybe they could switch to open carry for everyone, like in Star Trek’s “A Piece of the Action”

Obviously a misdemeanor took place at the laundry mat. For statistical purposes, I’m sure this was a freak accident.

Wait, I thought you couldn’t buy a gun within the Chicago city limits... More or less murder someone with one.... I am shocked I tell you, shocked.

Exactly. Obviously Chicago needs more laws. Rahm should think about pushing a law to make it illegal to kill certain people in the City of Chicago with a gun.
