Here is a transcript of the trans-Atlantic telephone conversation that would have taken place between General Dwight D. "Ike" Eisenhower, commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force, and President Barack Obama on the eve of the Normandy Invasion, June 6, 1944. Friday is the 70th anniversary of the landing.

Ike: It's too late to turn back now.
Obama: I should have flown to Berchtesgaden and talked with Mr. Hitler. Or at least called.
Ike: He won't take your calls

The lyin’king “appearing” in Normandy for the D-Day ceremonies will turn in to all about him. What an insult to our military. He’ll probably give a shout out to the recently “rescued” soldier who “served with honor and distinction”. Yeah, there’s some ‘stinktion alright. Sorry France for his being present near that hallowed ground. Sorry families of D-Day vets for his embarrassing presence.
Excellent!
Very good!
Probably not that far from how it would have actually gone down, had this clown been in charge back then.
He forgot to mention all the French Combat Troops that stormed the beaches with us.
Wonder if he is going to happen to find a bunch of rock right there on the beach and make a cross out of it?
The ending needs work. Ike should have had 0bama clapped in irons and locked in the brig with orders that no one was to communicate with him.
Unfortunately it is both true to character and reads like Monty Python.
