So much for fringe Republicans pursuing a phony scandal. Not only does the new House Select Committee on Benghazi get a majority of support in a new Washington Post/ABC poll (51/42), it gets support from almost a third of all Democratic respondents as well. An even larger majority of Americans believe that the White House conducted a cover-up in the aftermath of the attack that killed four Americans, including the first ambassador to be killed in the line of duty since the Carter administration:
Democrats in recent weeks weighed whether to abstain from involvement in House Republicans new Benghazi investigative committee, labeling it an unnecessary probe into questions that have already been answered.
The American people disagree.
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows a majority of Americans 51 percent approve of the new panel, while 42 percent disapprove.
In fact, the number of Americans who think the Obama administration has covered things up (58 percent) is even larger than the number who want the investigation (51 percent). Americans say 58 to 32 percent that Obama has covered things up rather than being honest about what happened. Thats a bigger gap than last year, when it was 55 to 33 percent (though the shift is not statistically significant).
They dont think too highly of Hillary Clinton, either. Her approval rating on Benghazi is 37/50, which considering the circumstances is not as bad as she might fear. Thats helped in large part by Democrats, though, of whom only 22% disapprove of her handling of Benghazi

The poll results arent terrific for Barack Obama either. His approval rating has risen incrementally, but is still 46/51. That falls to 43/53 on the economy, 41/50 on foreign policy, and 39/56 on ObamaCare implementation. The latter shows that the April victory lap was mostly a figment of the White Houses collective imagination...................There you have it.

Really? Did Hillary “handle” Benghazi? The only thing she did was lie about the video in front of the four returning caskets. And Democrats think that was fine.
Unbelievable.

I’ll believe that when either the poll numbers drop below 30 or the free stuff runs out.

The public is beginning to turn against their Dear Leader The democrats are starting to as well. There are rumblings that they are none to happy that Obama has essentially handed the Republicans the senate in 2014 and sold coal state democrats up the river with his back door "cap and trade" scheme announced yesterday, not that democrats particularly mind "cap and trade", they just think that Obama should have waited until after the election and the only reason he did it now was to shore up his support with the environuts and take the news cycle off the VA problems.
If and when the democrats get rolled in the 2014 elections, you are quickly going to see the rumblings turn into a roar as more an more start treating Obama as a very lame duck, and worrying more about the party than his legacy.

Americans say 58 to 32 percent that Obama has covered things up rather than being honest about what happened.Subtract the 13% of the population that's black (and will support Obama in whatever he says or does) and you're left with only 19% of Americans who think Obama's honest about what happened... That's an amazing number.

Most decent Americans just want to know what happened. If we really did everything possible the night of Benghazi, why are the Democrats so opposed to hearings?
I wonder what percentage of the US population knows where Benghazi is located and what happened there?

No one should be under the impression the public is turning against Obama.
If he were to run for a 3rd term, he would win, provided his propaganda machine had ample time to improve his numbers. We live in a country dominated by people of staggering ignorance and complaceny. For a majority of people, as long as they have food in their belly and are being entertained, they don't give a damn about Benghazi or any other of the Obama scandals.
That is why Hillary remains the favorite to win in 2016.

Meanwhile, he will still have the nuke codes nearby, not that he would ever use them against any of our enemies.
