If you knew anything about movies you’d know that the producer doesn’t “hire” (by which I guess you really mean “audition”) -—the director does this, and yes, even at the amateur level, it happens all the time. And yes, monologues of five minutes or longer.
I’ve got one of these in my family - there’s nothing a person can do - no amount of reasoning or proof can dissuade them.
