Yesterdays latest kickoff of the Initiative 594 campaign in Seattle reportedly brought in a $1 million pledge from Nick and Leslie Hanauer prime bank-rollers of the gun control effort so far along with what the Seattle P-I.com reported was a six-figure pledge from an anonymous donor, and that is troubling to gun rights activists.
When an issue threatens to erode what they consider are not only firearms rights but privacy rights, six-figure pledges to that campaign should not be anonymous. Its an age-old principle held dear by the press: The public has a right to know.

Or what the NRA would call a slow days worth of fund raising....
Nick Hanauer (born 1959) is an American entrepreneur and venture capitalist living in Seattle, Washington.
Hanauer is co-founder of The True Patriot Network, a political action tank framed upon the ideas he and Eric Liu presented in their 2007 book, The True Patriot.
Hanauer is active in the Seattle community and Washingtons public education system. He co-founded the League of Education Voters (LEV), a non-partisan political organization dedicated to improving the quality of public education in Washington. He also serves on the boards of Cascade Land Conservancy, The University of Washington Foundation, The University of Arizona’s Mount Lemmon Science Center and the Biosphere2 climate research project.

I understand that there is some wealthy clown in CA who wants to make gun control his main issue so he can run for gov/prez.
“....Biosphere2 climate research project.” Pretty much tells me what I figured.
Looks like Bloomberg finally figured out he's toxic to whatever anti gun rights campaign he openly funds.
“I understand that there is some wealthy clown in CA who wants to make gun control his main issue so he can run for gov/prez.”
Hey - that sounds like another wealthy clown who used to be mayor of NYC who wants to make gun confiscation his main issue. Probably to be POTUS or UN Secretary General.
What is it with Jewish billionaires and gun control? First Bloomberg, now Hanauer.
After earning his philosophy degree from the University of Washington, Hanauer got his business start at the family-owned Pacific Coast Feather Company, where he continues to serve as co-chair and CEO. In the 1980s he co-founded Museum Quality Framing Company, a large West Coast franchise.
In the 1990s Hanauer was one of the first investors in Amazon.com (where he served as adviser to the board until 2000). He founded gear.com (which eventually merged with Overstock.com) and Avenue A Media (which in 2007, under the new name aQuantive, was acquired by Microsoft for $6.4 billion).
In 2000, Hanauer co-formed the Seattle-based venture capital company, Second Avenue Partners. The company advises and funds early stage companies such as HouseValues Qliance, and Newsvine. He is from a jewish family.
