“At the moment they say they want assisted suicide for people who are terminally ill, but for how long will that last, and who decides what is terminal?” she asked. “If terminal illness, why not chronic and progressive conditions? And, if chronic and progressive conditions, why not seriously disabled people?”

And eventually it will become those the state just doesn't want around any longer.

This person suffering from hereditary defects
costs the people 60,000 Reichmarks during his lifetime.
People, that is your money. Read ‘New People’.

Of course. As with the promotion of homosexuality, this is an area in which we can know the future beyond a reasonable doubt, because it is “the present” just a few time zones east.

Anyone who claims otherwise is either lying or deeply ignorant. The ignorant are the ones the liars will “assist in dying.”

And as if this needs to be a zero-sum game! I personally don’t think it is. I think the Lord will bless private charity and resources will appear for it. Caesar’s simulacrum, not so much.

This is what Western Civilization is devolving into. I blame political correctness and liberal “feelings” over rationality and common sense. No wonder the Islamists think they can win. To paraphrase Khrushchev, “We will destroy ourselves within”, which is what we’re doing. The irony is that the fall of the Soviet Union proved him wrong until now.

It is a short trip from allowing physician assisted suicide to denying medical treatment because a death panel has decided your life is not worth trying to save.
