Dems prep Mississippi war plan

National Democrats have begun to take steps toward contesting the Mississippi Senate race, channeling money to their cash-strapped underdog challenger and preparing a deep research file on tea party candidate Chris McDaniel as Republicans duke it out in a runoff primary.

Party strategists have long watched the GOP campaign between McDaniel, an activist state legislator, and six-term incumbent Thad Cochran for signs of a general election opening. Though Mississippi leans strongly to the right, Democratic leaders increasingly believe McDaniel could be vulnerable to a concerted challenge in November — and in an election season that has Democrats overwhelmingly on defense, a surprise opportunity to go on the attack in the Deep South might be too enticing to pass up.

Pro-amnesty Michael Bennet, Schumer and Reid are backing Childers. Childers throws away an issue he could attack Barbour and Cochran on.

When Boozman, Jeff Sessions and Vitter back the winner of the GOP primary; are Landrieu and Pryor going to boost Childers?

“...Democratic leaders increasingly believe McDaniel could be vulnerable to a concerted challenge in November...”
********************************************************************

Pure DemoncRAT misinformation and BS! They are salivating at the chance to run against the now senile Cochran and are most likely funneling money to his campaign now as well as planning for GOTV for registered Dems to vote for Cochran in the runoff.

What a load. Democrats couldn’t get elected in Mississippi if our candidate was Jerry Sandusky. They waste money on this, they are more stupid than we give them credit for.

I completely agree.

Time to donate more money to McDaniel.

Chris McDaniel is good on the issues, but he has shown ineptitude on the campaign trail. At the very least, he has poor judgment in the people he hires. One of them got locked up in the Hinds County Courthouse, where uncounted ballots are kept. No legal wrongdoing was committed by the staffer, but it wasn't a smart thing to do.

If Democrats and Politico are so convinced that they can beat McDaniel. why did they help get Democrats to the polls in the Primary to support Cochran and why are they preparing to do the same in the runoff? Perhaps they really know that they can’t win in November and they’d rather have a Democrat in that seat, even if he has to have a (R) next to his name.

I have to agree with you about the staff being caught in the courthouse.
I believe there is a simple and reasonable explanation.

However, no explanation has been offered by the McDaniel campaign.
That is the troubling part to me

Many of us who were on the thread election night can recall that about
11:30 pm, Hinds County stopped reporting vote counts. 75% had been
reported, but no more counts were coming out. A lot of us saw this as
a big red flag.

I certainly would want to go to the courthouse to find out why, counts
had stopped. Maybe that is what they tried to do. Got locked in and
looked for somebody to let them out and finally had to call for help.

I am sure there is a reasonable explanation. They just need to provide it.
