Local reporting says that the good guy came up BE
HIND the perp & used the pepper spray.
The perp didn’t see him coming.
Won’t work in all cases.
Besides, I don’t want to be that close to any perp if I can help it.
I live rural. Have very alert dogs. I have time to get to my weapons.
