The controversial deal freeing Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for five Taliban prisoners will likely dominate Sunday news shows.
The exchange has come under fire from lawmakers who ripped the Obama administration for not notifying Congress in advance of the swap that freed Taliban leaders from the Guantanamo Bay military facility. President Obama has made no apologies for securing Bergdahls release and said he'd do it again.
Here's the lineup:
ABC's "This Week" will talk with House Intelligence Committee Chair Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) about the growing criticism surrounding Obama's decision to negotiate Bergdahl's release. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) will be featured in discussion.
CBS' "Face the Nation" will interview Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) who leads the Senate Intelligence Committee, and Saxby Chambliss, a ranking member of the committee, about the Bergdahl backlash. Feinstein and Chambliss expressed frustration that Congress was not given a 30 day notification, required by law, that the swap would occur.
Host Bob Schieffer will also talk to journalist David Rohde, who was captured by the Taliban in 2008 while reporting in Afghanistan.
CNN's "State of the Union" will feature interviews with Secretary of State John Kerry and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) regarding the latest Bergdahl developments. Kerry will be asked if he thinks Bergdahl is being swiftboated by conservatives; McCain will weigh in on whether the prisoner swap has put more Americans in danger.
"Fox News Sunday" will discuss the Bergdahl fallout exclusively with former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey, who has called the deal to free Bergdahl a ghastly transaction, and the former Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. Jack Keane.
Does NBC thank the French or do we?
So there will be no big coverage of Obama’s D-Day speech?
What the heck is going on, the media is going to devote the Sunday shows to this controversy? A controversy in which Obama looks very bad and did something so indefensible, and clearly broke a law?????
Ping.
Nothing on the VA, the invasion on the southern border, 0.1% GDP, Obamacare, Benghazi, IRS targeting, NSA spying, Ukraine, Hamas threat, Iran nukes, jobless Americans, common core, etc.
The Taliban swap worked as planned. Back to golf.
Don’t worry. It’s just a way to bring in WH surrogates to spew more lies and fake explanations. I won’t bother to watch.
If they hit hard, that means they have the stomach for a bruising mid-term fight for the Senate.
If they soft-peddle, it means they plan to go-along-to-get-along and not disrupt the status quo.
This will be a test of Mitch McConnell's fortitude.

There is a certain math to war. Unexpected fire coming from behind you is ten times more effective than expected fire coming from in front of you. Bergdahl’s unit was in a circular defense. It looks like
O
With everyone facing out from the center.
When Bergdahl ran off, he turned that O into a
U
With everyone still facing out from the center.
The enemy had access to the rest of the American Soldiers by sneaking in through the open part of that U. The enemy’s fire would have been from the rear and unexpected. They would have been shooting Americans in the back. That’s why Bergdahl’s fellow American Soldiers are so angry. He left them open to slaughter.
I think that anyone who wants to make this out as a political and not military problem should be flown to Afghanistan. They should be put in contact with the enemy while their flank is left unguarded. See how they like it.

Bingo
I hope that this fact makes the sunday shows
watch this Lou Dobbs report regarding reporter Michael Hastings who did a story in 2012. What happened to Hastings in 2013. Watch this report
