The video reveals information which has major implications in regard to Ukrainian aspirations for participation in NATO’s rapid response force in addition to its own defensive capabilities.

“Yep, no description whatsoever.”

There is no excerpted text when and where there is no text to excerpt, like this YouTube video. The title of the video is self explanatory.

You may think that title explains something, but I don’t see the explanation or description in it.

“You may think that title explains something, but I don’t see the explanation or description in it.”

Whether your statement is true or not, that does nothing to change the fact that the YouTube webpage contained no text from which to excerpt a quotation. To quote the text there must be some text to quote. The only text provided by Vice News in the webpage was the headline. Vice News provided no descriptive text or news article, so the Vice News headline was the only Vice News text available to be quoted.

I’t your thread, you should tell people what a video is about, why they should go look at it, rather than just post a link to a video.

“I’t your thread, you should tell people what a video is about, why they should go look at it, rather than just post a link to a video.”

Such remarks go into the “Body of Comment”. I made no remarks in the “Body of Comment”, because the headline was rather succinct in describing the video was about the Ukrainians receiving body armor. The importance of the troops receiving body armor seems to be quite obvious, and viewing the video is about the only way of appreciating the event when you consider a picture, especially a moving picture, is worth a thousand words or more of text.

The “Body of Thread” is a quotation from the text of the news article, and there was no news article text from which to excerpt a quotation, other than the text of the headline saying the video was about the Ukrainians receiving body armor.

Out of the three people who responded, 2 disagree with you, the thread is really about you posting at me.

Great thread. You want to browbeat me some more for my opinion?

“Great thread. You want to browbeat me some more for my opinion?”

You’re doing the browbeating over an insignificant issue, and I’m simply providing a reasonable response and explanation of what most people would think is relatively obvious; i.e. you cannot quote text which is non-existant in the first place. It should also go without saying your objection was noted in the first instance and given the consideration it merited. It’s a free country for you to disagree all you want. Now, does this mean you want to find something asle about this to be disagreeable about?

Do you realize how goofy you have made this thread, three people posted two of those scratching their heads, and you have turned it into a weird thread of you telling me over and over, that there was nothing pre-written for you to quote, to explain your mysterious video link.

Can’t you look at this thread and figure out that we are right, and you did a bad job of posting a video thread, and just let it go? I sure didn’t expect to have you harassing me all day because I agreed with poster 2, and he was the one that laid a big insult on you, and to you.

I didn’t even post to you.

“Do you realize how goofy you have made this thread,”

LOL, if there is anything “goofy” about this thread, it is you insisting upon acting the part of the character in Monty Python’s Argument Clinic comedy sketch demanding the 5 minute argument and not “thinking of taking a course.”

“three people posted two of those scratching their heads, and you have turned it into a weird thread of you telling me over and over, that there was nothing pre-written for you to quote, to explain your mysterious video link.”

Well, if you think it is weird you are perfectly free to see how you can do any better by showing us us all exactly how you can quote from the non-existant paragraph/s.

“Can’t you look at this thread and figure out that we are right, and you did a bad job of posting a video thread, and just let it go?”

Do you mean to say the YouTube video was NOT about the Ukrainians receiving body armor?

“I sure didn’t expect to have you harassing me all day because I agreed with poster 2, and he was the one that laid a big insult on you, and to you.”

“I sure didn’t expect to have you harassing me all day” simply because you wanted to demand something that was never there in the first place like some kind of Liberal spending money the government does not have and cannot get.

“I didn’t even post to you.”

Do you actually think that is any kind of a good recommendation for you?

You are nutty as a fruitcake.

It’s too bad for me that you decided to start pestering me instead of the poster that I agreed with, and posted to.

Quote?

You are not forbidden from describing a youtube video that you post to freerepublic, in your own words.

And Lord knows that you seem to have a bottomless bucket of words, an endless supply of words and explanations when you want to, too bad you couldn’t use them to draw someone to your thread, by describing the YouTube video, then perhaps you wouldn’t expend days of posts lashing out, trying to cover up your embarrassment.

If you so desperately need someone else to write the description for you, why didn’t you use their description on YouTube?

“”Meet Yuri Kasyanov, a Ukrainian activist who raises money from ordinary people to buy supplies for the Ukrainian army, and every day risks his life to deliver them to the front lines.

VICE News correspondent Simon Ostrovsky met up with Kasyanov in eastern Ukraine and traveled with him to checkpoints as he supplied soldiers with flak jackets and food.

As the crisis in Ukraine continues, it has become more apparent that the government isn’t efficiently taking care of its own forces. But as Petro Poroshenko’s presidency begins, the prospect of change is appearing to be possible.””
