Hillary Blames Some Benghazi Failures on Hired Hands
The Weekly Standard ^ | June 9, 2014 | DANIEL HALPER

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to deflect some of the blame for the failure of preventing the Benghazi terror attack on hired experts. She made the comments in an interview with Diane Sawyer:

Sawyer asked, "Is there anything you personally should have been doing to make it safer in Benghazi?"

"Well," Clinton responded, "what I did was give very direct instructions that the people who have the expertise and experience in security --

"But personally you --"

"Well that is personal, though, Diane. I mean, I am not -- I'm not equipped to sit and look at blueprints to determine where the blast walls need to be or where the reinforcements need to be. That's why we hire people who have that expertise," Clinton responded.

"I wonder if people are looking for a sentence that begins from you, 'I should have, I should have,'" Sawyer responded.

Diane Sawyer finds her inner journalist?

No. This is the usual script... put out "reasonable" excuses for why she didn't do her job. Diane's helping. She's saying she did do her job but who could expect her to be an engineer too.

"I wonder if people are looking for a sentence that begins from you, 'I should have, I should have,'" Sawyer responded.

The "teaser" clip ended w/o Hillary's answer to this rather provocative question. That is, at least, a direct question going to her personal competence and accountability.

Gee, you'd think the genius who designed Hillarycare wouldn't have any problem designing security for Benghazi.

I mean, being the smartest woman in the universe and all.

If she can’t sit and look at blueprints, she could have stood and did it. No sale.

I have a friend who was transferred from head of a technical organization where he was an expert, to a different technical organization where he had little expertise. When I asked him what the most difficult part of his job there was, he replied: "I have to be able to select technical experts whom I trust, to advise me."

In other words, he was still ultimately responsible. His new job required him to judge the competency and reliability of others, rather than making the judgments himself. If they failed, he failed. Were it only so with politicians.

Like obozo yesterday Clinton displays an utter lack of honor or courage or leadership. We have NOTHING at the top of this country...NOTHING.

You could have sent in more troops or pulled the personnel out rather than pretending they were safe.

Unusual angle to view Hillary. Looks like she weighs 200 pounds. Not that there is anything wrong with that....

One of the most basic rules of management is that you can delegate authority, but not responsibility.
