I would think that if the Democrats thought they had a chance to win in November then they would view McDaniel as the easier candidate to beat. So if they turn out for anyone I imagine it would be him.

That’s the other side of the coin. So I think McDaniel will be the nominee, and since MS has an aversion to democrats, he’ll likely be the next senator, though not without the Establishment trying to undermine him.
