This is professionally stupid .... sounds like the three amigos of climate fakery are involved (Jones, Hansen and Mann).

Hello..green plants LIKE CO2..it is necessary for them to grow.

And here I was taught long ago in school that plants liked CO2, used it to build up fiber and mass.
Guess my old teachers were all wrong.

"So here’s my guess, high co2 levels actually makes crops grow faster, which may mean a lower nutrient level pound for pound. On the other hand, crops yield will also experience an increase. Funny the researchers didn’t mention that."

I've been looking for articles that claim reductions in carbon emissions will lead to famine. We'll probably be eating coal before that happens.

Actually, this is probably true. As CO2 levels rise, plant life grows thicker, quicker, and will, therefore, require more nutrients from the soil. So yes, nutrient levels will drop. But Nature has a funny way of balancing herself: more dead plant matter means more nutrients returned to the soil. And more food means less competition amongst plant-eaters, so they thrive and therefore slow the nutrient-taking rate.

In the short term, yes, less nutrients. but in the long run, it all evens out.

But with the rising amount of carbon dioxide in the air combined with climate change, nutrient level in crops is set to drop.

¡Eso es mierda del toro! CO2 is PLANT FOOD! If anything, the crops should be MORE nutritious, not less!

However, the team of researchers was unable to explain the mechanism involved in the reduction of nutrient level in food plants.

That's because there ISN'T one, in my opinion.

Good guess, Mongel. clearcarbon, if we removed CO^2 from the atmosphere to much less than 300 PPM, a lot of people would starve.

Plant growth vs CO^2 levels in greenhoiuses. Presumably, this would be true for open field levels, too.

Most plants, or at least their wild ancestors, evolved in and for a much higher CO^2 level "normal". Optimum looks like around 3 times current atmospheric levels, giving about 250% of "normal growth" (actually stunting from abnormally low CO^2 levels).

This chart came from a supplier of commercial greenhouses and greenhouse CO^2 enhancers, as well as other equipment for large producers/growers. Growers have been using increased CO^2 levels for decades.
