Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has pulled his support from a deal to sell the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and will pursue his $1 billion federal lawsuit against the NBA, his attorney said Monday.

"We have been instructed to prosecute the lawsuit," said attorney Maxwell Blecher. He said co-owner Donald Sterling would not be signing off on the deal to sell.

My coconut oil disagrees with you. I’m not a butter fan, but I could spritz on a little bit of extra virgin olive oil!

Do you put the salt in the pan when you pop it in coconut oil?

What I do is pop the popcorn first, then throw it in a ziplock type container, throw in the sea salt, seal the lid, and shake it for a few seconds. It really does a great job evenly distributing the salt on the popcorn.

I love it!

I hope Sterling puts all those smug, self-righteous NBA execs and the slavering media and the prematurely-ambitious wifey and the already-forgotten girl friend and the lost-boy Magic Johnson, and the pathetic Comic-Oprah Winfrey, right back on their respective fannies.

Sterling will have an array of crackerjack attorneys that will make the NBA's mouthpieces look like a kindergarten T-Ball team.

I love a Trial of the Century. We haven't had one since Jodi Arias last year. Time for another.

The game's afoot, Watson! Don't forget to bring a bag of chips!

Or he doesn’t care about the money, why would he, and instead wants retribution from those who savagely attacked him and ruined his public life.

All this came about from a private conversation. He is entitled to privacy even if he’s wretched old man.

I hope he lays waste to the NBA for what they did.

I refuse 2 billion offers every day. In fact, I phone random people to ensure that before the day is out I have refused an other offer.

This ought to be a doozy case. Hope Sterling nails them all to the wall. What set Sterling off was that they wouldn’t drop the lifetime ban on Sterling attending games. I think Sterling decided to call their bluff, and dropped the sale, and took up the lawsuit.

Now the NBA has to decide is it more important to them to continue the lifetime ban against Sterling attending games, or let him attend games and then he’ll drop his lawsuit. Decisions, decisions. Sterling at this point is holding all the cards. This is going to be like the Flash Gordon old time serials on TV. Next week, a new show, after having been left hanging the week before. What fun.

What makes you think the NBA can't hire the best lawyers in LA?

I love a Trial of the Century. We haven't had one since Jodi Arias last year. Time for another.

No way this case ever gets anywhere near a trial. Sterling will file a lawsuit; the NBA will move to dismiss; the motion will be granted. Sterling will appeal; the appellate court will affirm. Sterling will ask the Supreme Court to review the case; the Supreme Court will turn him down.

What makes you think Sterling's suit would be dismissed out of hand?

What makes you think Sterling's suit would be dismissed out of hand?

The way the courts have dealt in the past with challenges to rulings by sports commissioners (e.g., George Steinbrenner's challenge to the Commissioner of Baseball's decision to oust him as owner of the Yankees). The NBA Agreement, like the MLB Agreement, says that the Commissioner's decision has the force of an arbitration award, which means that any lawsuit is a non-starter.

Yes, Sterling will hire very good lawyers (so did Steinbrenner), and they will make plausible-sounding claims as to why the Commissioner's decision is invalid, but the case will not go to trial.
