Since his release nine days ago, many have been wondering why Bowe Bergdahl has been so quiet! Latest reports say he hasn’t even spoken with his parents since being handed over by the Taliban!

Well, according to one caller allegedly familiar with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Bergdahl’s silence is due to the fact that he has already been put under arrest!

On Monday’s show, “Richard from Saginaw”, called in and told Tom he understands that Bergdahl is expected to be charged with 11 counts — all related to his mysterious 2009 disappearance.

Richard said he worked with the JAG office for eight years before recently retiring and his “sources” claim Bergdahl will likely face desertion charges. If found guilty, Richard says Bergdahl could face 20 years in prison!(continued)

In the Obama Bizarro World, Bergdahl will get promoted to General and appointed to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Wait......are you telling me that Bergdahl drove a van too?

I read up, last night, on the case of Eddie Slovik, the only
soldier to be executed during World War Two, for desertion.
I believe Bergdahl deserted, so, who knows?

No, you’re joke was funny, I just wanted to show you what it really meant. It’s the military version of a minor misdemeanor, in most cases.

Send the “hero” story down the memory hole. Use revisionist history to play up the traitor angle; Obama always thought he was a deserter and consorted with the enemy. Court martial and execution. We’ve always been at war with Eastasia.

Nixon's pardon didn't fall under the UCMJ

Is this traitor still up for a promotion this month? What kind of backlash will there be when this bit of news becomes public?

LOL.. This is a clusterflock of the highest order. Barak Obama bent over backwards and turned himself inside out to give Bob Bergdahl almost total access to the hunt and negotiations for his son..... while Bob Bergdahl was in frequent contact with Al Qeada.

Somebody wake me up.

it would explain it's silence since a lawyer would certainly tell it to keep it's mouth shut at all times...

A lawyer would recommend the deserter to do this anyhow, regardless of being or not being under arrest. The events happened long ago, and at this point JAG has only limited evidence. Any lies would be contradicting that evidence. A lawyer would tell his client to be silent. In case of specific accusations the lawyer will learn the evidence and work out a response (such as "I was hit over the head with a brick on that day, and came to my senses only on airplane home," or "I was given opium in my food and became hypnotized.")

This is the logical conclusion to everything we knew about this guy in 2007, much less later on. But we were called racists then and still are.

but it wouldn't need a lawyer unless it was/going to be charged with a crime, right? which was kinda my point

or would it automatically get a lawyer on general principal?

Allow me to ‘Third” my disbelief of this report.

No question at all that he was criminally AWOL, little question remains that it was actually full blown desertion in a combat zone.

But since the current CINC of the USA cares so little for the UCMJ, there is also no question at all that this man's life is in more dire active danger now, as a political pawn of the POTUS, than he was in the last five years at the hands of the Taliban he actively sought to “contact”.

His potential value and “use-by date” has now expired.
May God have mercy on his soul.

In the former real world of the DOD, he would be convicted of desertion in a combat zone, and spend a few more years in custody, primarily in an isolated DOD mental ward.

Bowe Bergdahl isn't going “home, alive” anytime in the near future, in the new bizzaro world of the DOD, under this CINC.

He will be “lucky” to even make it into Leavenworth, alive.

Worse traitors than he are walking free right now.
Including the current CINC.

Don’t believe he can be pardoned until he is formally charged with a crime.

Then how was Nixon pardoned by Ford? He wasn’t charged by anyone with anything.

Bergdahl is going to be an interesting case. Every Soldier in the Army has a Commander. Commanders decide what level of adjudication to seek in these matters. I haven’t heard if Bergdahl was Dropped From the Rolls (DFR) of his last unit. If so, Bergdahl may wind up going to a Personnel Control Facility (PCF). PCFs are set up to deal with Soldiers that are sort of in limbo.
The Army runs on paperwork, and there is going to be a lot of paperwork with this.

The Chief Executive can disregard all that. They normally are loathe to do so, but this one ain’t your grandparent’s president, now is he?
