The Bergdahl Dozen: Thirteen Reasons Why the Story Has Legs
Breitbart's Big Peace ^ | June 9, 2014 | James P. Pinkerton

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

It’s been a week, and the Bowe Bergdahl beat goes on. The story has been dominant in the news, even on shows that typically shy away from heavy news—as well as from news that reflects poorly on the Obama administration.

This morning, for example, on NBC’s “Today Show”—not exactly a hotbed of hard-news-focused right-wingers—White House correspondent Kristen Welker reported that the Obama administration is “facing increasing anger,” adding, “Members of Congress are furious” at the “shifting stories from the administration.” And she cited a new poll showing that just 29 percent of Americans approve of swapping Taliban fighters for Bergdahl.

And looking ahead, Welker predicted, “This week will undoubtedly be overshadowed by Bergdahl as well”; Defense Secretary Hagel testifies Wednesday on Capitol Hill.

Indeed, the Bergdahl story is going to reverberate for a long time, for lots of reasons. I can count a total of 13 reasons. In popular usage, a “baker’s dozen” refers to 13 of something. So let’s call the whole thing Bergdahl’s Dozen.

First, the White House has hoisted itself on its own photo op. Pictures are worth a lot of words—especially when they come from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The enduring image of the President, arm in arm with Bowe Bergdahl’s parents in the Rose Garden, reminds us that Team Obama wanted this story to play big. They thought they had a feel-good patriotic pageant on their hands, and by all accounts, they were stunned when the story blew up in their faces....

The curious problem with this whole mess...is if the White House had just talked to the CIA and the Pentagon...several problems attached to this would have been evident. I think they avoided all discussions...mostly because they just had to dump these five terrorists and figured this was the best public relations attachment deal that could come out of this. Now? The Senate might come around to asking several questions....like the money side of this. The group who held Bergdahl....didn’t care for the five guys involved...they just wanted cash. So who paid the cash, and how much was involved. I know it’s not the US government, but we dealt with someone who paid cash....who was that someone? What favor did we promise?

If those legs don’t get to impeachment, they’re the wrong legs.

With all the turmoil, Obama’s polling is looking as good as it has in a year.

A photo I saw showing the resident between the Bergdahls walking away, it looked to me like Barry had his hand on the seat of Goat Dad’s pants. I figured it was photoshopped.

He’ll never be impeached. Write that down. Never.

How many scandals do we have to hear about that the ultimate outcome is squat? In another week there will be a bigger scandal. What happened to the VA scandal last month? Investigations, reports, more investigations, more reports, someone gets put on leave (with pay), someone steps down, no one is prosecuted, the administration moves on with their agenda. Lives are lost, billions are wasted, nothing changes.

Many years from now we will still be talking about this... just talking about it.

It's all up to the American people.

The politicians in Congress need to feel the heat - like Reagan said, "When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat."

I think Obama thought that this could be spun as a “feel good President saves the POW” story. It would block out every other scandal and improve Obama’s ratings with the sheeple. Instead, his stupidity and ineptitude was apparent from day 1, and his usual media cronies are having a hard time defending him when there is just so much damning evidence and those that knew the the truth coming forward.

When he stuck Susan Rice out there AGAIN with another set of lies I was and am shocked at this totally brain dead administration. Do they sit in a room and make up stupid stories? Do they laugh at what they perceive as clever lies? Do they laugh because they've always gotten away with it? Are they that sick? And does Susan Rice have absolutely no shame? What are they holding over her head? I just don't like that the story is taking time away from Benghazi, IRS, and other important issues that need to be kept in the forefront.

I agree. He will never be impeached. And the only reason is because he’s black. If they could impeach only the white half, proceedings would already have been started. Not racist, truth.

And in the meantime, what is being overlooked and is only covered on the back page, is that our southern border is overrun by an invasion of “children” from Central America.

And I mean: OVERRUN.

President Eisenhower wasn’t exactly my idea of a hardcore conservative, but he definitely knew how to control the border and return illegals to their home countries.

And that’s why he can stay brazen until the day he leaves office (if his feral supporters let him) and continue to dismantle the country brick by brick.

The other two branches of government have already been cowed into submission.
